Guest guest
Hello there My understanding is as follows........... It depends upon what you are doing and who you are worshipping. If it is straight-forward lighting up of the (jyoti) to all the deities/gurus, then it is the desi ghee which is considered more auspicious as this is derived from the cow's milk and as cow is considered to be the incarnation of "Kamdhenu", the ghee is the best to light. However there are a number of times when it is the mustard oil that is the considered more appropriate to use. Some of these occasions are as follows: - performing MahaLakshami Puja - performing Shani puja - performing Astra/shastra puja - this includes the woship of weapons and tools alike. Hope this helps Kind regards Anand bikramjit.pandher [bikramjit.pandher] 06 February 2005 20:01 RBSC : Using Ghee or mustard oil is consider more auspicious in lightening lamp Hi, What is considered more auspicious when lightening lamp in temple at home.
