Guest guest Posted January 28, 2005 Report Share Posted January 28, 2005 Dear Stargate40 Oval Rudraksa are Indian in origin........the 2 Mukhi and 3 Mukhi Indian........they are most Auspicious Beads and the 3 Mukhi is most Beautiful.....they are not Nepal Beads and are truly a special Indian Bead Really dont know thier scientific nama however it may be Eleocarpus oblongus Gaertn only thing going on here is that they are oval and the latin word oblonogus may refer to their oblong shape.......says in Suba Rai Book that in Tamil this type of Rudraksa is known as Bikki........its fruit is used as an emitic......also in rheumetism, pneumonia, ulcers. leprosy, dropsy and piles.
