Guest guest
Dear Bikramjitji Not to worry about this Mitra as is a normal occurance with meditators as the Kundalini gathers in the head..........there is slight pressure in frontal lobes of head and you are focused inwardly if you keep your eyes closed............if you have problem with this pressure then remove mala and lie down for 5 minutes with eyes closed and then sit up slowly for a minute and this should allow the feeling to subside and integrate so you can go back to work........Is best to save this experience for quiet time at home so you dont have to be doing anything physical.......is a special gift to be able to experience this type of Bliss in the frontal protions of the head > Aum NamaSivaya Sivaya Nama Aum Wishing you and Family the Best Thanks DD > > > bikramjit.pandher > [bikramjit.pandher] > 26 January 2005 16:13 > > RBSC : My experience with siddha mala > > > > > Hi, > After wearing siddha mala for 3 days. Guest guest
Namaste, Pressure in the head happens at certain places due to the movement of prana within the nadis. The main points pressure occurs within the head are between the eyebrows, the temples, the top of the head and the bridge of the nose. If the pressure is due to prana it is a good thing, though it can be a little alarming if one doesn't know about such things. I also sometimes get a pressure at the top of the back of the mouth/throat, and there is also the lambika point the resides above the soft palate. One side of this is open in all folk, the other remains to be pierced. The pressure should pass, I would think, in a short while and maybe return periodically, most likely during sessions of formal sadhana or when studying scripture. Hope this helps, Om Shanti Neil bikramjit.pandher [bikramjit.pandher] 26 January 2005 16:13 RBSC : My experience with siddha mala Hi, After wearing siddha mala for 3 days. I remeber it happened to me before when I first used rudraksha. I took it off for couple of months as my mala was in india for remake. Guest guest
Namaste Bik, Hope this finds you well. I believe such things are little indicators that sadhana is generally going well and that subtle purification is taking place. Most of the time (in my experience anyway) the pressure is nothing too extreme that it is overwhelming, but it can certainly be strong. Should it ever become more than I could take, I would put a temporary halt to whatever sadhana I was performing and ease off the amount of practice being devoted to meditation, and turn to something like reading or chanting aloud or singing kirtans. Like pretty much everything in life too much of something, when we are not prepared for it, is often more than our system can comfortably handle - this also applies to sadhana. Best to build up slowly and gently. I would imagine that everything would be fine soon, but use your buddhi to discrimate how you are and how it is best for you to progress. Guest guest
Nicely said Neil. Swami Vivekananda said that man has a wonderful self=balancing system composed of head, heart and hands. If a person feels dry from too much study or meditating, then he should engae in more heart centered practices like chanting, kirtan, reading from holy books to kindle devotion. Too much heart centered practice can lead to fanaticism so doing service or study of more intellectual works can help with tha. The truly noble souls with whom I have come in contact show such balance. I remember seeing Swami Ranganathananda giving a talk on advaita vedanta and quantum physics, raiding love to all in the room and playing with my son and the son of friend on his kness at the same time. The boys were about 4 years old. This made a deep impression on me and I have since wished to emulate that in as far as I am able. Guest guest
Namaste Neil, Thanks Neil for taking your time to help me... I thinks that's true to turn to something else if mediation becomes overwhelming. Mostly when we do meditation we recite mantra again and again which brings a lot of intense cosmic energy from universe to you and sometimes we have not learned how to handle that energy. The ability to handle that energy (power) comes with time and practice. Being a Sikh by religion and devotee of Lord Shiva, I think I am very blessed. Reason is when my meditation becomes very intense and I could not handle it my self sometimes, then I turn to scripts of Sikhism which were written by my Gurus. These scripts are not like mantras but more like poem where GOD is praised, worshiped again and again using different examples or relating to real life facts to make us understand the ultimate TRUTH. Yesterday I was watching a program on Christianity I loved the sentence that one teacher used " God made us autonomous but not independent" thanks Bikramjit Pandher [Pandher, Bikramjit] Neil [Trikashaivism] Wednesday, January 26, 2005 9:18 PM RE: RBSC : My experience with siddha mala Namaste Bik, Hope this finds you well. This describes very well how to maintain balance in one's sadhana.
