Dear Dharam Dev ji,

Thank you for the inputs and guidance on the 3 mukhi beads I received from Mr.

Raja.

1. These are oblong...not round. I am not sure of the workmanship in Pune, hence

I may use glue or wire mesh to tie it up.

2. I have been able to clean them, and soaked them in sesame oil, the color is

clean and texture is fairly smooth.

3. One out of the three has got a mark of 'OM' appearing on it on the side.

Kindly suggest if this has some significance.

4. I do not have a proper puja place in my house and I am constantly travelling.

In such a situation, I prefer to have it placed on my body only.

Kindly suggest on how to go ahead on this.

Warmest regards,

Sachin Pande

Dear Sachinji

DharmaDeg Arya answering from Rudra Center email address........are

the beads round or oblong........round are nepal beads and oblong are

Indian beads that normally do not have a hole in them for threading

upon maturity..........to clean them boil water on stove.....take pot

off stove and let cool for 5 minutes.....then place fruit covered

beads in pot and let soak until water becomes cool and the pulp

becomes soaked with the water and will brush off with plastic soft

plastic tooth brush.......is actually a really messy job.....continue

to brush beads untill all the fruit pulp is out of the lines and

crevices..........you can also soak in room temperature water for

about 3 days and then try to brush

if you like you can use glue and a cap and then you dont have to

drill a hole in these........other wise you have to find someone with

a small home workshop drill press.......you have drill straight

through by putting bead in a wooden vise with cloth around it and

carefully make the threading hole.....you have to do this slowly or

the back of the hole will break out

Would suggest wearing two of these mouth part to mouth part and

leaveing the third for the worship place or plant and see if it will

grow Rudraksa Tree

hope this helps

Thanks and Take Care

Dear Sachinji

I am not sure what you have now.........if they are oblong Indian Beads then

they are some of the throniest beads found...........even more so sometimes

than the nepal beads........really pronounced exterior protrusions on outside of

bead.....if texture if fairly smooth I would need to see email picture of

Bead......how big are the beads...are they as big as our one mukhi half moon

shape bead on the website or are they about 15mm

You can keep them anywhere while traveling...........in a pouch if you like

or have them strung or glued and wear on neck

Can you send email picture of Bead

hope this helps

Thanks and Take Care

Sachinji

I am not as knowledgeable as Shree DDji but I remember someone explaining to me

something like this:

When you are at the place you call home, you should wear rudraksha for as long

as you possibly can during the day and at night you can take it off and place in

your puja altar (if you have one at home. You do not need the physical altar to

be present but if you have a dedicated place in your home where you keep your

religious pictures/books/statues, that would be sort of equivalent to the altar)

or have the beads on your bed-side table. If the beads are not in the sacred

place in your home, they ought to be placed close to where your head would be

when you are lying in your bed and if possible raised higher from the ground

than your bed.

When you are not in the place that you call home, you should try and wear the

beads all of the time. Obviously observing the sanctity and longevity of the

beads to avoid wearing them during the times that the beads ought not to be worn

(while having a shower/bath for example to avoid damage to the beads from soaps

etc.). You would be able to find such information on the Rudraksha ratna

web-site as to what to do/not-to-do while being a practicing rudraksha wearer.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Anand
