Guest guest
Vanakkam Roan, So sorry i was not able to get online until now..... It was wonderful meeting Mr. Hansraj, Mrs. Hansraj and yourself in Singapore! The humble pleasure and honor are very much mine. Thank you all from the soul, for coming to Changi Airport to meet me. Words cannot express my appreciation of your kindly darshans. With Shiva's blessings, we shall meet again soon. Next time when I come over, there will be no more rushing. My beloved friends, I must apologise profusely for arriving late at the airport. Circumstances were rather beyond my control, hence the delay. Please pardon me.... To Jeremy; so sorry that you were there early at 5.30pm and had to attend your next appointment so we didn't get to meet. Never mind, I will visit Singapore again in 2005. This time, we will all meet at a pre-arranged venue, somewhere in Katong near the Vinayaka Temple around Ceylon Road or Joo Chiat Road precincts, whichever is easier for you guys. To Roan re Durga Mantra: ----------------------- Different people teach different methods in regards mantra recitation. Imvho, it is easier for beginners to commence with Saguna Mantras (i.e.'God Realization' mantras) where the meditator sees or visualizes the image of a specific deity whose mantra is being chanted. With the passage of time, a person then 'becomes one with the mantra' After dedicated recitation of Saguna mantra methods, a person eventually understands the deeper or significant aspects of Beeja mantras/ Nirguna mantras/Abstract mantras. However, there are teachers who prefer to start their students right away using Beeja mantras. This is of course up to the teacher to gauge the individual student's level of study and experience, and whether beeja mantras are suitable for the individual. Each person differs from another. Generally, it is fine to recite Om Dum Durgayei Namaha if a person so wishes. Please follow what your instinct or heart tells you - the best guru is "The Inner Guru". Regarding mantras for placating the 9 Planetary Lords, each has a different mantra. For example, for Lord Surya, the simple version is Om Shree Suray Namah. etc. For Shani/Saturn it is: Om Shanishcharya Namah.. Since Maa Durga controls Ketu, She can be invoked for blessing you with immunity from Ketu's malefic influence. That is, if ypur recent horoscope reading indicates a Ketu affliction. Alternatively, a Nine Mukhi Rudraksha can be used. This bead represents Durga and also widely used for protective purposes. Hope the above helps.
