Guest guest
Hi Hansraj, Roan and Je..., Just a suggestion: Perhaps you guys/gals can exchange phone numbers and meet up somewhere in your home country of Singapore to discuss forming the first ever Rudraksha Study Group for newbies, enthusiasts and collectors! When I come over, we can all meet!! Maybe organize a group workshop or lecture about rudraksha, its uses, properties, cleaning, oiling and maintenance, etc..??? More than happy, humbled and honored to share if there is enough interest. Rent a hall somewhere..... collect entry fees to pay for the hall, complimentary beverages for attendees, print leaflets, advertise around Indian communities etc. etc. Take bookings in advance. That kind of thing.. Maybe we can combine a Rudraksha Exhibition simultaneously. Will need the help of a few volunteers after they learn about the basics of rudraksha. And Je, as you suggested, the best portable aircond with a lead that can take me anywhere without withering under the Singapore sun and humidity ) I pay my own airfare, food and accommodation plus any miscellaneous personal expenses. This requires planning many months ahead. Not something that should be done on impulse. Firstly I have to save the money to purchase air ticket and make hotel booking. Prefer hotel to be near Little India or Serangoon Road, or Kaliamman Temple. Any suggestions, comments or advice? All welcome.. This is so it will give me a good idea about Singapore before making plans. I really do not recognise the place any more. The old Chettiar Temple is gone; it looked so different last May when I visited. When I was studying at boarding school there, they didn't have MRT and the only western supermarket was Cold Storage next to CK Tang Emporium. There was an American School and international school. Bukit Timah had many large colonial English-style homes with beautiful grounds/gardens, etc. Now they are all gone.... Where do all the expatriates live these days? Around Holland Road? Just curious...... Anyone has a recipe for making Lontong? I really love this particular curry broth more than anything else!! Plain roti pratha and "gwee kueh", and also some types of Nonya food too.. Thanking you..
