Dear friends

I have bought a rudraksha mala and am wearing it since April this year. I work

in a manufacturing setup and so invariably sweat at work. I wonder if my mala

has got dirty and can someone guide me as to how the mala could be cleaned and

empowered again.

Thank you

Re: RBSC : Simple daily Shiva slogas

dear krishnamoorthy ji,

very nice to hear about your chanting the Mritunjaya Mantra and the

shatanamavali of shiva, hanuman and vishnu etc...and happy to note about your

doing sandhyavandana..actually sandhyavandana is done 3 times in a day ...in

early morning, noon and in the evening at sunset. however, due to paucity of

time it is verygood even if it is done once daily. as regards simple mantra you

asked how about chanting the shivagayatri...its easy..

om tatpurushaya vidhmahe

sahasrakshaya mahadevaya dimahi

tanno rudra prachodayaat

Hi,

Can someone suggest any short slogas one can chant everyday? I spend 15

minutes in the morning to say different slogas for different deities. I chant

Mritunjaya Mantra starts with "Om Triyambagam yajamahe sugandam....." besides

"Om Namasivaya". In the evening after I am done with my "Sandhyavandhanam", I

say vew "Ashtakams" - basically 108 different names for Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu,

Lord Hanuman etc. I couldn't do these everyday.

I am looking for more slogas not too long ones.....

Thanks

Mahesh Krishnamoorthy

If you look in our files, you will find collections of postings on this, and

many

other questions. We have a wonderful archive of information that we have

assembled and catagorized, and you might want to "have some fun" perusing

it. :-)

But, the short answer is this: You can clean your mala with a mild soap

solution and a soft toothbrush. Blot or air dry it, then oil it. Two traditional

oils

are olive and mustard. However, some people prefer jojoba oil.

The beads do not need to be re-empowered, as, unlike yantram, they never

lose power.

Thanks, much! kari
