Guest guest
Namaste Simone: One morning when I was getting ready to show, I remove all my beads, and crystal, and other symbols I wear. I placed then in a cup sitting on the sink. Un beknown to me there was a bit of water in it. The water turned orange, from my rudraksha beads. Now you are talking of placeing them in spring water or milk? I have no knots in my Mala beads. Okay what is ratna? I have a bit of golden yellow hue on some, but no white. I need to have them blessed. Om Namah Shivaya Bonnie - Simone Friday, June 11, 2004 7:02 PM RBSC : To Bonnie Namaste Bonnie, With a little time and experience, I'm sure you'll pick up a lot about Rudraksha. Your mala sounds like Tiger's Eye due to the color mentioned.
Guest guest
The yellow from the beads is often saffron. Sometimes, it is a dye-- depending on where the beads were purchased. It will come off, as you clean and oil the beads. Ratna are gemstones. In Vedic astorlogy, they are use to appease the different planets, balance the horoscope, and confer certain blessings and powers. There is a lot of information about that, on the rudraksha-ratna web site. You don't need to have rudraksha beads blessed, as they are holy to begin with. If you want them blessed, however, you can also bless them, yourself. Our esteemed Aumganesh recently posted a simple puja that one can use to bless the beads. Thanks, much!
