Namaste.

Can someone explain the properties/energies of the Mercury beads often used in

Rudraksha malas and bracelets? What has been your experiences with the beads?

Also, does anyone have any experience with Black Chirmi beads from the Aravali

Mountains in India? Ms. Neeta told me of the legend of them, but has anyone had

any personal experiences?

Thank you,

Seline

Hi Seline,

Namaste. Just a brief two cents' worth:

IMVVVHOM, mercury beads generate energy, keeps the body warm in

winter (in my experience) and is revered as the Seed of Shiva (as in

semen, not the physical sort but rather the subtle Ojas). Mercury

has long been used in India for generating energies, removing bane,

for protection, health, blessings, sadhana, etc. A parad ring is

often worn for a duration of the specific sadhana a person

undertakes; some folks apply it as a kind of "wishing" ritual for

manifesting something or to draw beneficial influences. After

the "wish" is fulfilled, the ring is taken to a river and set afloat

with thanks and reverence, offerings of incence, flowers, etc. Up to

the person or the preceptor teaching the sadhana.

Black Chirmi stones from Aravali Mountains are well known for

protective qualities. In India they say the stones prevent "black

magic", evil eye and keep malignant spirits away.
