Guest guest
Namaste Brother Jamini, Thanks for your message. I'm responding with a lot of love to you as a sibling in God. What I meant by "Merit is not selective of anything" was that "anyone can perfomrm penances and make efforts to engage in meritous and virtuous activity". About reservations for any creed, caste or peoples of the world, all are God's children and one life sustains another in some way as all are interconnected in some karma or rnanubandhana. This is Mother Nature. All are also leela and maya who are great teachers whether they are advantaged or disadvantaged in soceity. All are also mirrors that reflect one another. The perception that one is lower or higher than the other, is a form of challenge. If one had to score high marks to get somewhere while another can get in with lower marks, it is a challenge to us to try and perform better, a test of character, for a our own good perhaps. It is natural for those who engage fully in leela and maya to want more and more until they can go beyond these. This happens everywhere in the world. The majority of the world's population is shudra by birth, by choice or by merit. Please don't get me wrong but on subtler understandings, it is said that all are born shudras and they only become Brahmin by merit. A shudra can be a noble Brahmin in nature while a Brahmin may be shudra in nature. This is all the play of God and the Great Rishis who created everything who have a great sense of humour and irony perhaps Om Namah Shivaya Best regards Simone , Jamini Padhi <jamini_padhi> wrote: > Namaste Simoneji (sister), > Your last line in the previous mail was "At the end of the day, everyone still breathes the same air with feet walking the same Mother Earth planet and merit is not selective of caste or religious path either". I wish it was true in India. India has a funny system of "reservations" like you have for the aboriginals or the Red Indians in the USA - but it is a one time reservation which you people follow. His / her next gen does not get the benefits. > In India, I don't know what the Brahmins have down 1000s of years ago, that the Govt reserves everything from free education to lowering of marks for entry to Civil Services, Medical Schools, etc. the level of reservation has reached 79%. I being a brahmin have to score 95%+ marks to get admission to say a medical college but these "other" called scheduled tribe and scheduled caste just have to get 50% and walk into the medical school, every where you will come across them sitting in front of you to the extent that even when they get a job ahead of the most eligible brahmin they are given accellerated promotions, it is a stinking system out here. These (not all though) are the people ruining the Country - when it comes to joining the defence services they say "no no what if I get killed"...because they know very well that a pretty safe and good job is waiting for them. This the 3rd or 4th generation and their enjoyment is not over..they want more and more everyday. > This boils every brahmins' blood but our politicians just want to get votes foresaking the Country... > It is nice to hear that you said what I have quoted above and for that matter any sane person would do so. This is the reason the words like shudra are hated in India..esp. by the brahmins. > regards and take care, > Jamini > > Simone <syzenith> wrote: > Namaste Respected Jaminiji, > > Dear brother, I understand fully your highly placed background and > gloriously magnificent position but please bear in mind that other > members may not have any idea about it.
