As the demand for Rudraksha is increasing globally they have started ripping off people. Also, the political condition there in Nepal has compounded the matters. When this is looked at from the point of view of greed (by the cartel) it .. kind of becomes suspicious. Like you ask for a 14 facet Rudraksha but they don't have a genuine one and give you a fake bead instead. Rudraksha as it is is not available in such abundance. There is a Rudraksha tree about 40 kms from where I stay and the fruiting quantity is not the same every year..
