Guest guest
Hi Cindy, Thanks for the link! Checked it out and certainly chuffed that the great Mr. Ismail Merchant asked diva Turner to play the role of Shakti. Would be a movie I'll try to get my sweaty little hands on Wonder if they would garland her with Rudrakshas for the part..... Guest guest
Hi Cindy and Sy, The role requires a persona of Turner age wise and look wise... she also has to have that voice and sing hymns in Latin and Sanskrit.. which is no laughing matter.. Ismail Merchant is a no nonsense director and scouts for his cast around the globe and maybe he did not find any in India. JB Simone <syzenith wrote: Hi Cindy, Thanks for the link! Guest guest
Hi Jamini & Sy, I don't know the director Ismail Merchant well, thanks for the info. Despite Tina Turner being a diva, she sure has a super amount of energy... I can see her doing something Kali-like. As to her actual acting abilities, that I'm not so sure about. But still -- as you say, singing hymns in Latin and Sanskrit is no laughing matter! Should be interesting at the very least. Sy --, yes, let's bedeck Mz Turner in rudraksha beads! How lovely! :-) Cindy Jamini Padhi wrote: >Hi Cindy and Sy, > >The role requires a persona of Turner age wise and look wise... she also has to have that voice and sing hymns in Latin and Sanskrit.. which is no laughing matter..
