Guest guest
I recieved a 14 mukhi rudraksh as gift which was bought from the Swami Chimnayanda mission in Mumbai. When I put the rudraksh in water it sank. However, the book sent by the mission mentions that some rudraksh sink as they have lower density, while most web sites say that a rudraksh should sink in water. Please Advise. Guest guest
Dear Friend At Rudra Center Authentication Services in India and America we have found that really dry Beads that are a couple of years old and are also authentic will float......sometimes Beads are kept for many years and the moisture content of the Bead will leave them and they naturally float.....they are still authentic have also found that a newly harvested bead has more moisture in the Bead and will find its level of floatation in a glass of water according to its specific gravity that has something to do with moisture content in Bead....in other words it will sink partway from surface to all the way to bottom of glass depending on moisture content Seems the newly harvested beads will sink more than the older dryer beads and this may be something to consider if anyone wishes to buy a fresh new Rudraksha Bead that was recently borne to the physical world in the Arun Valley Rudraksa Forest of the Himalayas The concept of placeing slightly confuseing rules in society by people who wish to take the energy and power from others is commonplace in this age and this happens with most everything from Mantra and Rudraksha to the financial world and to one person trying to control another person.....this is giant problem especially in the relationships between the Mankind and the Womankind in this Age Meaning that sometimes some people......in attempt to manipulate others for personal gain....... will make up a rule that really has no basis and is a bit difficult to understand.......by deliberately makeing up conflicting rules in this manner they know they can attract the attention of unsuspecting people to come to them and depend upon them for their advice......problem with this concept is that All Knowledge can be found in the Holy Books and the result of going to others who make up conflicting rules usually results in spending time and energy and money in order to simply learn we need to listen more to our Upa Guru Am fairly certain the only way we learn is if each of us understands the need to question everything......... includeing any authority figure in this age as the true gurus welcome this process of giveing Knowledge to others....... and we need to listen more to our Higher Self Hope this helps Thanks and Take Care My Friend DharmaDev In a message dated 2/8/2004 10:35:20 PM Pacific Standard Time, mgodhwani writes: > > > I recieved a 14 mukhi rudraksh as gift which was bought from the > Swami Chimnayanda mission in Mumbai. Guest guest
Namaste Mgodhwani, It is difficult to answer your question without actually looking at the bead. There are many different criterion for determining genuine rudraksha. An unripe but genuine rudraksha may float in water. A fake one that is filled with lead inside, may sink in water. The 'water test' cannot 100% determine the authencity. Are you in Mumbai? If you are, please contact Rudra Centre for assistance with authentification if you wish. Guest guest
Hi Mgodhwani, Sorry I didn't realise you don't live in India. If you wish, please upload a pic of your rudraksha into the photos section of this list (then delete it later if you don't want it there for too long). Shri DharmaDev, Kantiji, Alanji, Kariji and a couple of other highly experienced friends here may be able to determine the bead's authenticity by looking at its formation.
