Guest guest
dear sirs at the rudraksha bead societies club - how are you? i hope each one of you is doing very well and enjoying a blessed new year. my name is allen and i am honored to be standing here among you. i am a soon-to-be rudraksha owner (?) and am feeling some anxiety as to how these sacred objects should be properly cared for. though i have read all the available material online and have scanned a majority of the posts to this community, i still have a few remaining questions -- i was hoping that the ocean of experience and technical knowledge available in this forum might agree to help clear my concerns. i apologize if my questions seem irrelevant or if they force you to rehash a previous post which i did not read. here are my questions: large malas can be somewhat difficult to wear, and as such i have heard that it is acceptable to carry a mala in a pouch of some sort when away from one's home. this view is reiterated on the rudraksha- ratna.com website. however, the scriptures that i have encountered do not necessarily sanction keeping rudraksha seeds in a pouch or bag. yet neither do they explicitly forbid it. in your experience, is this an acceptable practice? can it be done without offense? are there restricted materials regarding the pouch (leather, polyester, etc.)? since the rudraksha do not directly touch the skin, is their efficacy diminished when transporting them this way? a million thanks in advance for taking the time to answer. take care, allen atuazon
Guest guest
Namaste Allenji, Welcome to our group. There are many learned people here. Your journey is just beginning and this is an excellent place to get sound advice on the use and care of rudrakshas. I find that wearing them under my shirt works just fine. It felt al little strange the first few days at work, but now I notice no discomfort only the very positive results of their energy combining with mine. You should do what works for you. I believe that experimenting for yourself is important. You will find what works best for you. As Syji indicated wearing them in a pouch of natural fiber also works. Some people also make the connection with their beads by worshiping them on the altar. Guest guest
syzenith and arjuna (and everyone else) - thanks for the advice! maybe i was over-reacting. i came from a catholic background, so i tend to be a bit stiff i guess in regards to liturgical orthodoxy. but, i think, ritual correctness is a big concern to many people of many different religions. nevertheless i look forward to reporting my experiences and getting more guidance from all of you. take care, allen atuazon
