Guest guest
Namaste Jamini, Nice to read of your personal experiences, warm thanks for sharing! Just my very humble two cents' worth: (But also with utmost respect for other friends who are vegetarian or vegan; all are one and the same ------------ When a Guruji takes on a chela, he also takes on the chelas' karmas to a certain degree or absolves all if he is so inclined; all depends on the individual Guruji and the karma + rnanubandhana between the guru and the chela. As you mentioned "Gurudev of Mantra Tantra Yantra Vigyan", I'm humbly assuming your Gurudev may also have meant his lessons May include "the difference between aversion and non-aversion which is one of the ultimate Tantras". May I reiterate that I'm only humbly assuming.. Though I should not assume at all, so please pardon my taking the liberty. No I don't feel your Gurudev meant such questions are silly to ask. After all, He is your "Dispeller of Darkness or "Ignorance" as some would term it along "subtle" lines. By telling you to leave the karma to him, he was bestowing upon you His Graciousness, Largesse of Spirit, Generosity of Spirit, Magnanimousity of His Divine Darshan, etc. Wow, you must be very well worth it..! Sincerely Jamini, I mean this. Not all gurujis would take on everything and actually say words to that effect. A guru's words or speech are Mantra too. You're right about the food item remaining in the mind once it is conceived in an inkling of thought and further yearnings would only result from this. It is like going against the flow of nature, and also "inner nature" if we try to stop someone from eating what they "need" to eat, whether for reasons of religious observance, medical ailments, etc. It is moderation in consumption that is essential in some cases. When the "river" runs dry one day naturally, there will no longer be yearnings for certain foods. Very much agree that it is not a good practice to convert others or coerce them against their natural wills, i.e. "can't force vegetarians to eat non-veg.etc." We have another thing in common here in regards a balanced diet, whether vegie or non-vegie. A non-vegie person can also be as pious as a strict vegie person and a Vegan. Vegie or otherwise, are all different forms of the Divine so to speak. When we say "Namaste", we "greet the Divine in You" or whoever is being addressed. This is the angle from which I'm coming Everything about a person in samsara is irrelevant, except the Divine within Him/Her. At the same time, whenever some types of sadhaks begin certain sadhanas like observing silence and fasting for example, or when making a vow to a particular deity in penance for some reason or other, vegie and vegan foods are consumed during these times. When fasting, no food at all of course. Neither do I believe in the neccessity for remorse as maybe from an Aghori point of view, when one is born to eat animals, then one has a rnanubandhana with the animal/s that he/she eats. Past karmic bonds, ties, debts, etc.etc. until one or the other eradicates it and releases himself/herself from manifested existence of going over the same cat and mouse games (metaphorically speaking). Or one or both gets reborn over and over again to play out all the leela and maya incurred until God decides to intervene The wonderful Son of Shiva, the Lord who is Keeper of Akashic Records is benevolent but makes everyone mull through the mileages before Ganeshaya gives brownie points. (Golly, I've got a long way to pull through yet...) "Khumbh Mela"...... Ommmmm "Via Shirdi"....... Ommmmm ******Jai Maha-Deva-Shree "Sai Baba of Shirdi"...! Ommmmm..... ****** Cackles....! Very good point about the spoons and utensils for preparing, cooking and serving food Agree absolutely regarding your views about japa and Tratak. Also in resonance with the fact that plants also cry out when they are cut, chopped or pulled from the "soil" (Mother Earth, their "home") etc. Again, Rnanubandhana comes into this... i.e. between the vegie person and the plant or plants. You're not wrong about many medicines being animal derivatives. Even at "plant derivative", it is a by-product of a thing, the plant, that was once a living and breathing "entity" in its own right. All is of God. Fully understand and appreciate your sharing of the Special Person you know who is 27-28 years old who has Siddhis. I know of one such person in this age group living in Northern India who is the most delightful, loving and humble person; one cannot help but see both Mother and Father in him, another rare but enlightened soul young in physical age but get within his sights and kapow...! the darshan is unmistakable. And like many enlightened souls, he keeps a very low profile. "Gagangiri Maharaj (Khopoli) is around 250, Kalki Maharaj (Hadapsar, Pune) is around 200, Lahiri Maharaj in the jungles of West Bengal is 350+... "............. ************Jai and Ommms... Their Auspicious Names brings immediately Their Magnificent Darshans right to us, thank you Jamini and bless you a 1000-fold. ********** So sorry to hear you had relapse of typhoid, it must've been very difficult and I empathize sincerely. Hope you have since been on the mend and never had to look back. Bet your baby son would be proud of his dad and vice versa! How is your boy? You must have done some very great things in the Past to reap rewards of meeting wonderful people like the guy at the hospital, who in Feb. went to see your infant son as well. But then, it takes wonderful people to meet other wonderful folks. Btw, back to rudraksha, it is also Rnanubandhana that brings an individual into contact with Rudraksha. It is often said that holy rudraksha find their own homes, not the other way round (to borrow a verse or two from Shree DharmaDevji and Sis Kantiji). Om Namah Shivaya Auspicious blessings Sy , Jamini Padhi <jamini_padhi> wrote: > Namaste syzenithji, > As you have requested others to chip in with their experiences I would like to mention that when I had asked my Gurudev of Mantra Tantra Yantra Vigyan about food / drink, etc. during any Sadhana he had said "go on...leave the karma to me..". So what he basically meant is that such questions are stupid to ask. If someone wants to eat non-veg don't stop him/her because the food item will remain in the mind and the person will develop more thirts for the food. On the other hand one can't force vegetarians to eat non-veg, etc. In my personal experience I have found that eating balanced diet is the best whether it is veg or non-veg and keep my mind/conciense free so that I can concentrate on what ever I posses eg. rudraksha mala and mentally chant "Om Namah Shivaya". So finally, I believe that there should be no remorse... what happens when we eat at Hotels? I was returning from Kumbh Mela via Shirdi and had not eaten for more than a day. I saw a hotel and stopped. As the hotel was veg+non-veg my wife asked for water only and no food. I told her if she could take water then why not some food as the kitchen there was filled with veg and non-veg items and perhaps one spoon was being used for serving; then what about the utensils, they are not washed with ganga jal! We ate what ever looked good including non-veg. There is no need for me to say that we are all children of God; he is perfect in all respects unlike us so it is natural for the Great Ones to forgive us mortals and guide us one concentrating on HIM/HER alone. Mentally we should be pure that can't be achieved by even taking bath 10 times a day but by japa - it develops concentration and leads us towards the state of what we generally call "Tratak". Almost all the medicines that we take are animal derivatives even plants have life and they cry when they are uprooted or chopped!! This reminds me of one great person I always depend on when things seem to be out of control. He is hardly 27-28 yrs old but > has powers like Tratak, Bhraman, etc. He seems to be all knowing even telephonically so the first time he meets anyone he asks for his/her family diety and next step is solution and in a minute everything is over. He has developed himself through penances with Gurus who are (would anyone believe) in their second or third century of life... if I name them you will know it is true... eg. Gagangiri Maharaj (Khopoli) is around 250, Kalki Maharaj (Hadapsar, Pune) is around 200, Lahiri Maharaj in the jungles of West Bengal is 350+... Lastly, I have recently recovered from relapse of typhoid and obviously I look weak as I am a regular with the gym.. happened to meet this guy and he was advising me to eat among all egg, chicken, etc. though he knew I had the rudraksha mala around my neck...as the last time (around Feb) he had come to see my infant son who was in hospital and from a distance told me to remove whatever I was wearing. I was testing a diamond and the same was around my neck... > Om Namah Shivaya > Jamini
