Namaskar Viswa,

You haven't disturbed me at all so please, there is no need to say

sorry :)) It is no trouble at all. I'm very happy to share with

sincere friends here whenever I can. As far as I'm aware, there are

no precautions to follow before worshipping the Conch. It all

depends on your family background, how religious your upbringing

was, whether your family has a Family Guru or whether yourself has a

Guru of a certain lineage that prohibits the eating of non-

vegetarian food before worship.

As I've often mentioned, I believe the Four Vedas were written for

the first Four Castses. Tantra is for all who aspire. With this in

mind and as my very humble studies lean towards Tantra, there is no

need to adhere to the strict religious methods others follow

although I sincerely respect each individual's chosen Path and

methods. They are all Paths to the Summit (God/dess) and we are all

siblings of God but in different ways. Personally, I don't feel

that consuming vegetarian or non-vegie food would interfere or cause

negative effects if one's worship is of sincere devotion and respect

for the deities.

Other friends here may have differing methods and information. If

so, would love to hear other people's experiences so we can learn

from all, then make our own conclusions as to what is right or wrong

for personal practice. In other words, we can make "informed

choices". To all who wish to share, please don't be shy about

posting your messages, thank you.

Om Namah Shivaya

Best wishes in all aspects

great. sorry to disturb you again I have another question ,Just

like rudraksha is there any precautions we should follow before

worshiping the conch?. Should we refrain from taking non vegetarian

food if we are worshiping the conch. WIll this cause any negative

effects if anything goes wrong while worshipping the conch.

Namaste syzenithji,

As you have requested others to chip in with their experiences I would like to

mention that when I had asked my Gurudev of Mantra Tantra Yantra Vigyan about

food / drink, etc. during any Sadhana he had said "go on...leave the karma to

me..". So what he basically meant is that such questions are stupid to ask. If

someone wants to eat non-veg don't stop him/her because the food item will

remain in the mind and the person will develop more thirts for the food. On the

other hand one can't force vegetarians to eat non-veg, etc. In my personal

experience I have found that eating balanced diet is the best whether it is veg

or non-veg and keep my mind/conciense free so that I can concentrate on what

ever I posses eg. rudraksha mala and mentally chant "Om Namah Shivaya". So

finally, I believe that there should be no remorse... what happens when we eat

at Hotels? I was returning from Kumbh Mela via Shirdi and had not eaten for more

than a day. I saw a hotel and stopped. As the hotel was

veg+non-veg my wife asked for water only and no food. I told her if she could

take water then why not some food as the kitchen there was filled with veg and

non-veg items and perhaps one spoon was being used for serving; then what about

the utensils, they are not washed with ganga jal! We ate what ever looked good

including non-veg. There is no need for me to say that we are all children of

God; he is perfect in all respects unlike us so it is natural for the Great Ones

to forgive us mortals and guide us one concentrating on HIM/HER alone. Mentally

we should be pure that can't be achieved by even taking bath 10 times a day but

by japa - it develops concentration and leads us towards the state of what we

generally call "Tratak". Almost all the medicines that we take are animal

derivatives even plants have life and they cry when they are uprooted or

chopped!! This reminds me of one great person I always depend on when things

seem to be out of control. He is hardly 27-28 yrs old but

has powers like Tratak, Bhraman, etc. He seems to be all knowing even

telephonically so the first time he meets anyone he asks for his/her family

diety and next step is solution and in a minute everything is over. He has

developed himself through penances with Gurus who are (would anyone believe) in

their second or third century of life... if I name them you will know it is

true... eg. Gagangiri Maharaj (Khopoli) is around 250, Kalki Maharaj (Hadapsar,

Pune) is around 200, Lahiri Maharaj in the jungles of West Bengal is 350+...

Lastly, I have recently recovered from relapse of typhoid and obviously I look

weak as I am a regular with the gym.. happened to meet this guy and he was

advising me to eat among all egg, chicken, etc. though he knew I had the

rudraksha mala around my neck...as the last time (around Feb) he had come to see

my infant son who was in hospital and from a distance told me to remove whatever

I was wearing. I was testing a diamond and the same was around my neck...

Om Namah Shivaya
