Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I am new member on the board. I am wearing Rudraksha mala which I bought from Rudra-Centre 4 weeks back. It is a combination of 2,3,4,6,9,11,14 mukhi in 5 mukhi mala. I am getting much more spiritually inclined then before. I sit for prayers for longer period then before. But most important difference is that before I use to worship only Ganesh jee but now other then his puja. I am getting inclined towards Shivjee, Durga, Laxmi and Saraswati maa also. Since it was not possible for me to worship all of them in a single go. I have decided to worhip them on their associated days as below: Monday: Shivjee Tuesday: Ganeshjee Wed: Mercury Thur: Saraswati maa Friday: MahaLaxmi Maa Saturday: Saturn & Durga Maa Sun: SUN & Gaytri mantra I am wondering, If I am doing it right? Please correct me, if I am doing anything wrong. Thanks Sundeep
Guest guest
Namaskar Sundeepji, Warmest welcome to yourself and other new members! It is wonderful to hear you have been more spiritually inclined since wearing your Siddh Mala, congratulations! Shri Ganeshaya opens the doors to all other deities so its seems He has His Gracious Hand on your head and is guiding you along. You are indeed blessed. Just my humble two cents' worth: It is fine to use your instinct or as taught to you by your guruji, family priest or pandit. To my understanding, Friday is for Devi worship, all forms of Devi or the 10 MahaVidyas and Maa Kali. About the other days, I'm not too sure as I do different practices that do not require observation of particular days or hours. Please consult your guruji, jyotishi, pandit, priest or pujari. It all depends on how strict your upbringing, background and religious inclinations are. Every part of India has different Sects, Traditions, Schools, Sampradayas, etc. etc. Hope this helps a little at least. Wishing you success in all endeavours. God/dess hears all. Guest guest
Dear Sy, I am really happy that atleast someone came forward to help me out in clearing out my doubts. I really appreciate the gesture. Yes, I think you are right that Friday is the day for worshipping Devi Maa, infact I think since Durga Maa is a Joint form of Laxmi, Kali and Saraswati Maa, it will be best to worship her on Friday. You are right that it's your sourroudings which possibly moulds you, but here in Canada I have no body to guide me on what's right and what's wrong, I always do what my little knowledge about our religion tells me. Going through various texts, I came to the judgement that all deities have particular days for example: Monday-Shivjee and Moon Tuesday-Ganeshjee, Hanumanjee, Mars. Wed-Bhrama Dev and Merucry Thurs-Vishnu Dev and Jupiter Friday-Devi Maa, Kartikee and Venus Saturday-Saturn Sunday-Sun Different parts of India have different believes. Every book or Website on the matter talks bit different. For example: Ganeshjee I have always worshiped on Tuesdays but I read somewhere that because he and Saraswati Maa and linked with Intelligence they shall be propitated on Wednesdays. Tuesday belongs to Mars and hence only to Hanumanjee. This ends up confusing people like me, who have no body to guide on what's right and what's wrong. What I have learnt is only from the texts which come across. May be we have to believe what our Mind and Heart accepts as right. Let me know your thoughts on this.
