Kind people,

I have a couple friends from India who will be moving away soon and

I'd like to get them both a gift. I know that they would appreciate

anything I got them but I'd like to buy them something that is

culturally special to them.

I know that they both worship Lord Shiva and I thought a pair of nice

japa malas would be a nice gift since I know they are familiar with

Rudraksha beads. Since there are japa malas made out of different

beads, I was wondering which bead might be best?

One more thing...they lost a child in child birth only a few months

ago so I would like to get them something that might help them with

their grief - something that might give them comfort.

Can you make any suggestions to help me in selecting a gift for some

very special people?

Best regards,

Val

I agree with Dharma Devaji.

Rudraksha & Shri Yantra would be a most welcome gift.

I have been doing some personal research on the Garbh Gauri bead.

There is no doubt all that Dharma Devaji has mentioned is true. I also found

a text that said that this rudraksha is " the House of Mother Gauri" so it

is actually the dwelling place of the Divine Goddess and therein is comfort and

refuge from all worldly pain, suffering and grief. There is great compassion

here that anyone can benefit from.. men as well as women.

Really is a bead that is under utilized and underestimated in the scope of

its power and potential I feel.

I am sure your friends will benefit greatly from your thoughtfulness.

Dear Valerieji

Namaskar My Friend

Those who worship Lord Siva are especially fond of Rudraksa Mala

The Sphatik Sri Yantra for their worshipping place and a Garbh Gauri Rudraksa

for the Lady to wear would be perfect gifts also

Garbh Gauri Rudraksa is the small form of Gauri Shankar. In Gauri Shankar both

the joined beads have mostly equal size. In Garbh Gauri one bead is smaller than

the other. It is the best for those women who suffer defects in their

conceptions and they are prone to abortion. It is advised that they wear Garbh

Gauri Rudraksha. If it is worn around the neck she gains pleasure to have issues

and her motherhood gets perfection

Hope this helps

Thanks and Take Care My Friend

Not sure Garbh Gauri is very thoughtful as it's a reminder of motherhood -

failed. I think probably some two faced beads as wristbands for him and her will

be especially soothing. And in the future, should they conceive again, then

Garbh Gauri beads could be very ideal.

Thank you all for your suggestions, but I have to agree with Kirk. He

has very succinctly identified my friend's current state of mind. My

friend is way too traumatized by the loss and any reminder is a little

too soon. I know that she fears trying to have another child at this

time because of the pain she feels which is why I'd rather focus on

something of general or spiritual comfort for her.

In order to make sense of this loss, she has turned to spiritual means

of comfort. I believe she was told by a friend and local spiritual

leader that the child was able to come down to earth in human form but

was granted a short stay, avoiding all of the pain of life (don't

quote me, but it was something like that). This is why I'd rather

give her something that is spiritually powerful or something to give

her general peace and comfort.

Does that make sense? Can you make other suggestions for me? I

really treasure this group's knowledge and insite and really

appreciate your help with this gift.
