Dear Friend

Have never heard of this either however would like to know where his specific

statement can be found and if it is printed in a book so we can look at this

further

Also there are many different types of Malas so am wondering what type of Mala

he might be referring to

The Rudraksa Malas are great to sleep with if you have a choker design so they

dont get tangled during the night

really dont see a reason why a person would not wear the day mala to sleep at

night so it would be good to know more about the reasoning supporting Dr Lads

statement

Thanks and Take Care My Friend

nighttime mala

Dr. Lad has said not to sleep with the mala that you use for daytime

use, but to use a separate one for night. I don't remember why he

said so, but I do remember this. Does anyone know about this?

Namaste Gail:

My own personal experience has been just the opposite.

Instead of heavy dark energy contaminating the rudraksha at nite, have found

that the rudraksha, being in essence a manifestation of pure light..raise and

lift energy field..during the night as well as during the day.

Person bonds with the beads very quickly due to the electro magnetic field of

the beads and also I believe because the rudraksha are plant matter. This

bonding creates a very powerful and harmonious interaction between wearer and

mala...that really does not change based on time of day.

Except in cases where mala is uncomfortable to sleep, I have never seen a

need to wear a separate mala.

Perhaps others in the Group may have some insights. Thanks for finding that

quote, but do not know what the basis is for Dr. Lad coming to these

conclusions.

Om Namah Shivaya.

Dear Friend

Namaskar and Thank you for your message

Is not necessary and is not healthy to have ghosts or spirits live in your home.

Is best for all concerned to respectfully redirected them to their proper and

correct plane of consciousness and this is good for them because part of any

unfinished business is finding their way to their new home on their next plane

of existence

>From Thomas Ashley-Farrands book Healing Mantras This Mantra commands that

spirits or beings who are not in their proper place return to their correct

plane of consciousness

Aum Apasarpantu Tae Bhuta Yei Buta Bhuvi Samstitaha

Yei Bhuta Vigna Kartara

Stei Gachantu Shiva Ajnaya

May the spirits that are haunting this area leave and never return by the order

of Shiva

Am not able to agree with what Dr Lad has said regarding wearing different Malas

at night because his reasons do not align with what is known

# 1 all night energies are not Tamasic

Definition of Tamas is inertia the innate impulse to remain the same

Ayurveda clearly teaches there are Master Cycles in each 24 hour day. There are

two major life cycles a human body goes through each day that include the gunas

and doshas. Different three hour cycles take place from sunrise to sunset and

sunset to sunrise

The Second Major Cycle from 6 PM to 10 PM and starts with a Kapha Cycle however

from 10 PM to 2 AM a Pitta Cycle manifests and then from 2 AM to 6 AM a Vatta

cycle manifests

Sleep during times of Pitta and Vata Cycles is not Tamasic

These same ebbing and flowing cycles manifest during the daytime hours so at any

given time dureing the day the wearer is also wearing during a cycle of Sattva

Rajas or Tamas

# 2 In addition Dr Lads statements regarding seperation of day Malas from night

Malas is not mentioned in any of the Holy Books read to date so am not able to

agree with what he is telling people about this either

What is actually said in the Siva Purana makes no distinction between day and

night Malas

Siva Purana states People of all varnas and asramas even women and Sudras can

wear Rudraksa at the bidding of Siva. The ascetics shall wear it with the

Pranava

If anyone wears it during the day he is freed from sins committed dureing the

night and if he wears it during the night he is freed from all the sins

committed dureing the day. Similar is the result with its wearing during morning

mid day or evening

# 3 Takeing all this into consideration and from personal experience I would

much rather wear any Jap Mala or Day Mala at night that I have Meditated with or

Chanted with chanted due to obvious reasons. The Rudraksa and the Mala as a

complete circuit are Empowered with the Mantra and this is a major reason to

wear your daytime Malas at night.

Correct me if am incorrect in understanding comments relayed from Dr Lads

discussion however he seems to think the Holy Rudraksa have certain limitations

and can only deal with certain energy in certain ways and at certain times of

the day and this limited thinking on his part specific to the Holy Rudraksa is

incorrect. Specific to the Laws of Nature and the Teachings of Ayurveda his

comments dont make sense to me because the Holy Rudraksa are Boundless in Nature

Would be pleased to reccomend to anyone that wearing your daytime Mala to sleep

at night is a most proper method of wearing and extremely effective in

processing the different energies experienced dureing sleep

I think this subject matter would make for a lively discussion between Dr Lad

and myself and would look forward to speaking with him about this some day in

the future if our paths ever meet

Thank You and Take Care My Friend

Dear Freinds

Made a mistake in a sentence in a recent message

Stated........ there are different 3 hour cycles from sunset to sunrise and then

sunrise to sunset

This is incorrect and needs to be changed to....... there are 3 different 4 hour

cycles from sunrise 6:00 AM to sunset 6:00 PM and then again from sunset 6:00 PM

to sunrise 6:00 AM

Thanks and Take Care My Friends
