The various uses of Rudraksa seem to cause bioeffects mediated

through the stimulatory action on the nervous system.

Sensory portions of the nervous system report and analyse the nature

of the conditions around and inside the body and the motor portion

controls the muscle and glandular secretions.

The Autonomic Nervous System is made up of the sympathetic and

parasympathetic nerves that is part of the motor systems and controls

many of the subconscious functions of the body.

Many of the control functions of the autonomic nervous system are

achieved by causing contraction or relaxation of the smooth muscles

in the internal organs. They also control secretion by many of the

glands in the digestive tract and elsewhere in the body. Autonomic

nerve endings even secrete hormones that can increase or decrease the

rate of chemical reactions in the bodys tissues.

Stimulation of sympathetic nerves causes the rate and force of

contraction of the heart to increase and stimultaion of

parasympathetic nerves causes the opposite effect.

As mentioned finger and thumb tips contain numerous closely spaced

tactile receptors and correspondingly they cover considerable areas

of the sensory reception in the brain.

Of the total area thumb covers more than any one of the other

fingers. This seems to be the reason for the special significance of

the thumb in chanting the Mantras.

In the process of relaying signals the Thumb relays by way of radial

and median nerves, the index, middle and half of the ring finger

through median nerve and rest half of ring finger and small fingers

by ulner nerve.

Each fingers electrical signals are variable and different which on

coupling with other fingers get altered in amplitude and phase. On

using different finger combinations as such for chanting different

Mantras there could occur the effect of modulated signal amplitudes

and phases on brain which in turn might produce the likely effects as

described in the scriptures though the researches on the cause and

effect mechanism are yet to be done.

The prescription for chanting Mantras suggests inducing the specific

areas of sensory portions of the brain by successively decreasing

order of signal amplitudes generated by the finger combinations or

Mudras

By thumb and middle fingers for attaining Peace Wealth and Happiness

By thumb and index fingers for attaining religious perfection or

final salvation, destroying enemies and for gaining properties

through trading or business

By thumb and small fingers for all Mantras and Siddhis

By thumb and fingers for Mantra Siddhis and Peace

By thumb, middle and ring fingers for attaining peace and spiritual

trance

The cumulative signal of the thumb and the index finger in Jnana

Mudra is suggested to improve memory and concentration, induce sound

sleep and remove mental instabiltiy and irritibility

The cumulative signals of the thumb, middle and ring fingers in Apan

Mudra are held to facilitate excreta discharge and to clean teh

internal organs of the body.

The cumulative signals of the thumb and middle finger in Akasa Mudra

are suggested to improve the functioning of the auditory system and

to cure its diseases.

Because of characteristic variations of the fingers signals

....................the altered signals from finger combinations

.........may not however...........provide the steady effect

Application of Rudraksa forming simple capacitor helps in maintaining

the constant amplitude with modulated frequencies reaching to the

sensory reception areas of the brain.

Since there is different bioeffects from different frequencies each

different Mukhi would produce specific bioeffects in such uses

depending upon their modulated signal outputs.

In chanting the Mantras in backward direction from the Meru Bead by a

Rosary made in metal wire this steady state of output modulated

signal is further maintained in amplitude and phase in accordance

with changes in the polarity of the Meru and the signal memory of the

Beads.

On the contrary moveing a rosary in forward direction from the Meru

results into overwriting the memorized signals and therefore repeated

breakdown of the neural signals and is prohibited in the Hindu

Scripture

The Rudraksa Beads are varicond dielectric meaning they help in

parametric stabilization of current and voltage. The inductive or

reactive current developed in the wire increases the power factor of

the hand and body. Further Rosaries for Chanting specific Mantra

Disciplines should all be of same Mukhi Rudraksa to avoid variation

in output signals.

The Rudraksas or their Rosary at or over other parts of the body

cause the bioeffects as described above. Rudraksa at lock, crown,

forehead, eyes, around the neck, arms, wrists, ears and over the

chest maintain steady state of mind body relationship by modulating

the signals and also stimulating the sensory nerves by way of the

inductive current that flows around the body organs and in the Rosary

itself. This is an ultimate example of Synergistic Relationship.

On wearing a Rosary in metal wire over the chest the inductive

current that flows in the metal wire alternates from the negative

half to its positive half and helps to regulate the internal events

of blood circulation.

Moreover the induced bidirectional current which terminates at the

Meru lying over the neck vertebra where vagus nerve originates from

keeps on regularly stimulateing the vagus nerves and thereby

increasing the strength of heart muscles and force of blood pumping.

This current also stimulates the diaphram which in effect induces the

functioning of respiratory system.

This study thus reveals that the biomedical application of Rudraksa

Beads as described in the Siva Purana is true to the best of

scientific knowledge.
