Guest guest
I was at a bar playing pool and some drunk guy kept on bumping into me, as he left he ran into me again and wispered, later Osama Bin Laden. I just laughed at him as he walked away though. He probably expected me to try and smack him. Some people still seem to have the "they all look alike" attitude. karisprowl <karisprowl wrote: I just got a package from India. The postal carrier knocked on the door, and asked me to sign for it. Guest guest
Wow, what a drag..Kamalji. It never occured to me that Indo - Americans would be getting the same repercussions from ignorant prejudice..but yes "they all look alike syndrome". Good for you for not playing into that darkness. Just saw a news headline that violence to Muslim people living in USA was up 1600% ..That's not a typo. Mr. Kirk..you were saying about Kali Yuga?? There is much that we can do to help alleviate this madness, simply by doing our individual spiritual practices and wearing rudraksha and trying to maintatin the attitiude of being in a sacred space where ever we are. Mentioned something the other day how the rudrakshas are like tuning forks for us to come into harmony with the Divine. The more we inter into that alignment so we can become "tuning forks" for others who are..how shall we say singing a few sour notes ? :-) Glad there were no physical threats, Kamalji :-) Namaste Kanti In a message dated 11/25/2002 5:59:17 PM Central Standard Time, one_kamal writes: > I was at a bar playing pool and some drunk guy kept on bumping into me, as > he left he ran into me again and wispered, later Osama Bin Laden. Guest guest
Dear Kamalji yes Ignorance is rampant in this age and you did exactly the right thing Although sometimes we are not in a position to walk away it is always best to try and walk away as a first choice By decideing to walk away from a set up confrontation that you were presented with......... you are the one who maintained control of the situation so that it did not escalate........... you deliberately prevented others from controlling or manipulateing you for their personal gain Commendable action My Friend Thanks for shareing this with us DharmaDev kamal patel <one_kamal <> Monday, November 25, 2002 3:57 PM Re: Post 911 weirdness I was at a bar playing pool and some drunk guy kept on bumping into me, as he left he ran into me again and wispered, later Osama Bin Laden. Guest guest
It's taking about twice as long to get a package FROM Canada. Some stuff from Kuwait didn't get to me, at ALL-- and it was sent by Americans. , thunderheals@a... wrote: > I'm having more hassles shipping into Canada than before 9/11 > > In a message dated 11/25/2002 1:14:28 PM Central Standard Time, > karisprowl@e... writes: > > > > I just got a package from India. Guest guest
... and in walking away, Kamalji also completely invalidated the stupid red necks. Not much one can do about "cranio-rectal inversion syndrome," except refuse to be drawn into it. , "ShiningLotus" <shininglotus@c...> wrote: > Dear Kamalji > > yes Ignorance is rampant in this age and you did exactly the right thing > > Although sometimes we are not in a position to walk away it is always best to try and walk away as a first choice > > By decideing to walk away from a set up confrontation that you were presented with......... you are the one who maintained control of the situation so that it did not escalate........... you deliberately prevented others from controlling or manipulateing you for their personal gain > > Commendable action My Friend > > Thanks for shareing this with us > > DharmaDev > > kamal patel <one_kamal> > > Monday, November 25, 2002 3:57 PM > Re: Post 911 weirdness > > > > I was at a bar playing pool and some drunk guy kept on bumping into me, as he left he ran into me again and wispered, later Osama Bin Laden. Guest guest
Some friends of mine recently spent a week-end in Las Vegas at a rodeo (no, I do not do rodeos). There were some ladies in hijab, sitting in a hotel lobby. They were getting some mean looks and nasty comments. So, my friends asked if they could sit with them, for awhile. The looks and nasty comments went away, and the whole group had a fun conversation about cowboys. But, it's a shame that the ladies had to be "protected" by sitting with "American-looking" folks. , thunderheals@a... wrote: > Wow, what a drag..Kamalji. > It never occured to me that Indo - Americans would be getting the same > repercussions from ignorant prejudice..but yes "they all look alike > syndrome". > > Good for you for not playing into that darkness. Bush is no hick: he's an ultra-slick oil tycoon preppy pretty-boy Yale man. How many hicks do you know who've gone to Yale? I'm a hick, married to a hick, I have hick kids, and I live among hicks. Salt of the earth, fair-minded level headed good-hearted people, these hicks. Pranaams, Shivaram Das ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A sadhu taught, 'God is in all things. Reverence all as God.' One day a disciple went out and met a mad elephant on the road. The driver on top shouted, 'Move away!' The man did not do it, instead offering prayers and reverences to the elephant as God. The elephant took him up with his trunk and dashed him aside. The man was severely hurt. His guru told him: 'God was also in the form of the driver. Why did you not listen to the God on top?'" -Sri Ramakrishna ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
