Guest guest
My beads call out to me at times to be remade into new combinations. I guess mainly for because I need different influences at different times. - karisprowl Monday, October 21, 2002 9:58 AM Just an observation I am new to this group. I know next to nothing about mala-making or rudraksha beads. I am simply here for the education. So, this is probably a pretty obvious observation. But, it appears that a number of the list members spend a lot of time and effort making and re-making malas. It would seem, to me, that the very act of making and re-making a mala would imbue it with considerable power, even without any other form of consecration. I would think that the imprint of the artisan's personal energies, and his/her concentration on the purpose and goal of the exercise would make it a holy thing. It seems that the act of making, itself, would be an act of consecration, and a fine form of devotion and meditation. I am also aware that one develops an actual relationship with objects, simply by handlin Sponsor
Guest guest
There are also scientically documented studies conducted in India pertaining to the electromagnetic and subtle energy qualities of rudraksha. So there is most definately an energetic exchange that takes place between an individual and the rudraksha. This is something that is akin to the subtle energy healing modalities such as Reiki as well as that which has been studied with quartz crystal. This same energetic exchange also occurs between the rudraksha themselves when more than one is strung on a mala In a message dated 10/21/2002 12:49:15 PM Central Daylight Time, karisprowl writes: > You have a great gift, then. > > BTW-- It would seem that if the principles of quantum physics are > correct, then NOTHING is really inanimate, because all "things" are > dynamic energy. Guest guest
Exactly ! The rudraksha are not suppose to rub directly against each other..in part because of abrasion, but other more knowledge group members would know more. So, gold, silver, thread or woolen spacers are used between them. These substances are also energy conductors The sciptures mention that this energetic connection is enhanced even more when rudrakshas are strung head to head and tail to tail and that info is in past postings. Scriptures also mention that sphatik (Indian quartz crystal), pearl, coral in general are very effective, but other gems are also used pertaining to the astrology and deities associated with each mukhi. Thanks for your neat questions ! In a message dated 10/21/2002 1:34:01 PM Central Daylight Time, karisprowl writes: > Well, the Indians had physics codifed a LONG time ago. Guest guest
I wonder what kind of broadcast, say, Kali Ma would do? <g> , "Tom Micklin" <tmicklin@t...> wrote: > Mala Radio Stations can be pretty cool. > Tom > > > AHA! Guest guest
Namaste. Your observations are very profound. I have been blessed with the opportunity to make malas professionally and as Kirkji has pointed out..I am also called "energetically" to remake personal malas or even change designs of those I offer to clients. It seems that one of the exciting challenges of entering into this reality of rudrakshas as Westerners in the 21st Century is to come into an understanding that they really are not "in-animate"..that they do indeed contain the essence of an aspect of the Godhead within them and it is that aspect that we bond with via the outer object of the rudrakasha which leads us to that reality within ourselves. The challenge is learning to respect the scriptural references but also to be able to discern what perhaps is cultural dogma pertaining to restrictions of wearing, etc. As you have pointed out..it all boils down to what is our intent and what is in our heart. Welcome to the Group and I urge you to research the past postings as you are able as there is a wealth of information contained in them Om Namah Shivaya Kanti n a message dated 10/21/2002 10:00:30 AM Central Daylight Time, karisprowl writes: > I am new to this group.
