I am new to this group. I know next to nothing about mala-making or

rudraksha beads. I am simply here for the education. So, this is

probably a pretty obvious observation.

 

But, it appears that a number of the list members spend a lot of time

and effort making and re-making malas.

 

It would seem, to me, that the very act of making and re-making a mala

would imbue it with considerable power, even without any other form of

consecration. I would think that the imprint of the artisan's personal

energies, and his/her concentration on the purpose and goal of the

exercise would make it a holy thing. It seems that the act of making,

itself, would be an act of consecration, and a fine form of devotion

and meditation. I am also aware that one develops an actual

relationship with objects, simply by handlin
