My Beloved Self;

If I understand correctly, mustard oil should not be used

because it darkens the beads. What oil is recommended?

For many years I have used extra virgin olive oil in the

lamps on my alter, in place of ghee. Would olive oil be a good

substitute in you opions. We seem to venture in to new territories

all the time here.

I have added a picture of my wrist malas, that I made. I want

to start the rituals as soon as possible. Bottom mala is for my

right wrist. It has six - four mukhis and six - six mukhis. The top

mala is for my right wrist and has three - nine mukhis and nine -

five mukhis. Can't tell I worship Kali Maa can you.

Love baba

I use mustard oil,

1- because it was recommended by a few websites,

2- I don't own collector-grade beads so I don't care about darkening,

3- because I don't associate the smell with anything else. Another

option I had heard was sesame oil, but since that's used in cooking

and ritual bathing, I opted for the mustard oil.

I read on one tantrik site, that as part of the puja for the mala,

that it should be scented with the "8 great scents", which I'm

guessing is referring to "ashtaghanda" of tantric yantra writing.

Either way, oiling the beads with a particular scent would be useful,

as long as you separated the scents from particular deity/use malas.

I think one reason for the mustard oil is to keep away white ants and

bugs from eating the beads (in India I'm guessing). The only

problem I have is that I really need to let the mala hang for all the

excess oil to drain off, plus it stretches the thread I use now,

which I why I want to try nylon, so it doesn't stretch and doesn't

absorb as much oil.

For my altar, I've gone from candles, to soy oil, to ghee, since ghee

makes for the nicest smell, even though you need to sort of preheat

it for it to be liquid.

Nice mala photos baba,

Dear Ravindra Ji

If you are haveing joint pain problems then first step is to go to doctor and

determine exact diagnosis so that you can act from the specific diagnoses of

the doctor.....second step might be to investigate chondroitin sulfate and

MSM to be taken together that are found in health food stores for joint pain

The 11 Mukhi Lord Hanuman Rudraksha will protect from silent enemies and if

worn with the 8 Mukhi Lord Ganesha Rudraksha it is said in book

that...........the opponents are finished meaning the minds or intentions of your opponents

are changed

The wearing of the Holy Beads is acually up to you however would be good not

to wear if eating non veg..........you decide whether you wish to wear any

other time......is a traditonal matter that beads are put on after bath in

morning out of respect

hope this helps
