Wearing/Using a Rudraksha for the first time

Different sources seem to suggest different things so I'm a bit

confused.

 

The booklet that comes with the rudraksha from Rudra Centre says that

you should wear the rudraksha the day (or the following day?) you

receive it.

But some websites (can't remember which) say that it is best worn on

a Monday.

 

My questions are:

 

- When is it best to first wear a new rudraksha?

 

- Is there a specific time/hour too?

 

- The booklet also mentions having a bath before wearing it. Is a

shower OK too?

 

- I also need to recite the relevant mantra for the rudraksha a

minimum of 3 times, best to read it 108 times?

 

- Anything else I need to do before/during first wearing?

 

 

My wife and I also just got a gauri-shankar, which we intend to put

in a box and place it next to our bed.

Are there different things we need to do in this case, where:

- the rudraksha is meant for 2 people

- it is not worn but put in a box
