Guest guest
GeorgeSon posted: http://www.expressindia.com/fullstory.php?newsid=66692 Dear GeorgeSon ~ thank you for posting this link. This article was wonderful. I found one more Divine Tidbit from Amma that I'd like to share: "The 'living saint' from Kerala, Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, more popularly known as "Amma", has said that love and compassion could eventually help in overcoming the problem of poverty in food, clothing and shelter. The Mata, who was on a three-day visit to Malaysia, said that there was so much poverty in material things. But it could eventually be eliminated if one could overcome the "poverty" of love and compassion, she said." This one statement kind of blew me away. I know I haven't been on the group lately, and it is because I have become sicker yet again. I am on one of the strongest pain meds available, Oxycontin, and even that does not control the pain. Somehow, reading these words was a revelation to me. I have been so self-centered, focusing on my pain, my increasing disability, my family problems, etc., that I have forgotten what is really important. Love, compassion are the true healers, and Amma's words spoke volumes to me. I may not be able to keep up with all the digests, but the ones that I do read (and sometimes I read, but don't write anything), help keep my awareness focused on what is truly important. Thank you, once again, GeorgeSon. Blessings ~ Linda
