Guest guest
Madar also known as Akra is a poisonous plant. It is so poisonous that animals like camels and goats stay away from it. This isolated plant is considered to be very dear to Lord Shiva. It is found to be of two different types. One is black colored and another is white. The white one is considered very auspicious. This plant is also known by the name Mandar and aak. Following is the method through which it can be used for poojas. The day when it is extracted needs to be selected with proper care. Its power is at peak during the Buddha Pushya yoga which occurs once or twice a year. The first eighteen minutes of this (Moon entering the Pushyami constellation) is useful for this purpose. "Amantran" has to be done a day before the plant needs to be extracted. " Amantran Vidhi" Day: Day previous to extraction One should observe a fast on the day. On an auspicious hour one should visit the plant and offer water to the plant. Then offer flowers and incense and tie a "moli" around the stem. One should offer prayers to the plant and beg for forgiveness. (Since you are going to extract the same on next day) Appointed day One should reach the place before time. A wooden log should be used to extract the root of this plant. (Iron objects should be avoided) Following mantra should be recited during the extraction "Aghore Bhayo aath ghore bhayo Ghor ghor tarebhya, Sarve bhayo Sarva Sarshe bhayo Namaste Rudra Rupebhayo" After you have extracted the root , you need to wash it with clean water. The root should be taken to the house temple and a paste of Vermillion and Ghee should be offered to lord Ganesha. One will see a distinctive face of Shree Ganesha in this root. Now allow three or four days to let the root dry out. Worship it daily as Shree Ganesha. On another auspicious day like Ravi pushya one should carve the ganesha idol while sitting on a leave of Banana tree ( From the root). The craftsman should be offered a banana leave for the same. After this one should bring the idol home. Daily, a paste of Raktha Chandan should be offered to the deity. This Ganesha bestows supernatural powers on the native.
