Guest guest
as an ardent devotee doing rigourous shalagrama poojas relegiously on everyday, i had made a trip to nepal with my family last year ,with the sole aim of collecting holy shalagrams from the banks of river kaligandaki. we virtually saw GOD and also could succeed in our aim of collecting several shalagrama shilas, during our trekking in the famous Annapurna Trekking Trail, specially between Jomsom , kagbeni and Mukthinath, which is supposed to be the deepest gorge in the world. i am planning to make a visit to Damodarkund which is also in Nepal near Tibet border, which is supposed to contain the origin of shalagrams in its nascent form. can anyone throw more light on this, especially about how to reach this place ? raj

We seek your wise guidance in the matter. can anyone tell on the following. 1. Is it safe to visit Nepal now - in the next four months? 2. What is the best period to visit Damodarkund? I understand during August some holy festival is held in Damodar kund. Please give us the details. 3. What are the preparations required? Do we need to buy any special permit ? 4. Is it safe for ladies and small children to travel to that remote part of Himalayas? 5. What is the itinerary - How will will it take from Jomosom with one full day stay in Damodar kund and back? we would like to trek only. I have lot more questions but I would like to reserve them for my next email . Please do reply asap. Regards raj sacred-objects, "Richard Shaw-Brown II" <rsbj66 wrote: > > Dear Raj, > > Namaste!!! But if you already have Shalagram Shila then why get more? Why not do Mount Govardhan parikrama with your family... it only takes one day (14 km around)...in Vrajadham. I did it several times. Spring is the best season in Vraja. Guest guest
Hi Raj, When are you planning to visit Shalagram Kshetra? Now is a bad time in Nepal. I have Nepalese friends, we built a school together in Nepal back in 1977, and it is very dangerous now. Maybe by next spring things will have calmed down. Hopefully. When the entire Royal family was killed I knew we were witnessing Vedic history, and thousands of years from now people & shastras will still tell the Nepal royal murder stories. Specially as both the late King and his late son represented Lord Vishnu. Nepal was paradise as long as late Kali Baba was alive. As soon as he died all hell broke loose in Nepal with start of revolution followed by royal slaughter followed by riots (currently). But next Spring is a long way off... Have a safe trip. God bless!!!
