Guest guest
HI IT IS MENTIONED IN GARUDA PURAN ABT A STONE CALLED "BHISHMAK" WHOSE DESCRIPTTION IS WHAT RESPECTED RICHARD SIR GAVE. MY QUESTION IS WHETHER "BHISHMAK" IS SAME AS COLORLESS QUARTZ ? , IF SO THEN WHY GARUDA PURAN ALSO MENTIONS ONE MORE STONE CALLED "SPHATIKA" WHICH WE ALL KNOW IS A NAME FOR COLORLESS QUARTZ. ALSO IF QUARTZ IS TAKEN AS ASTROLOGICAL SUBSTITUTE FOR DIAMOND, THEN WHY IS THE WEIGHT GIVEN DO MUCH IMPORTANCE. AS FAR AS I KNOW RESPECTED RICHARD SIR HIMSELF HAD TOLD IN ONE OF HIS ARTICLES THAT GEMSTONE CLARITY NOT THE WEIGHT IS WHAT IS THE KEY FACTOR. WHY CANT BE 1 CARAT DIAMOND = 1 CARAT FLWALESS QUARTZ ? Lets say that a 100 carat quartz is equal to a ONE carat diamond (actually it's more like 1000/1 ratio by density). > > Best rgds, > Richard > > --- deven chopra <chopradeven81 wrote: > > > Sir, > > > > What should be size for such a quartz crystal and its price also as > > mentioned in this quote from garuda puranam. > > > > regards > > > > deven > > > > > > > > Richard Shaw Brown <rsbj66 wrote: > > "Any one respectfully wearing a pure quartz crystal set in gold > > will > > attain good fortune in this life and be protected from dangerous > > animals such as tigers, leopards, wolves, elephants, and lions. Guest guest
Dear Deepak, Namaste!!! In Sri Garuda Puranam these stones are listed, THE LEGEND OF VALA, RUBY PEARL, YELLOW SAPPHIRE, HESSONITE, EMERALD, DIAMOND, CAT'S EYE, BLUE SAPPHIRE, CORAL, RED GARNET, JADE, ROCK CRYSTAL, BLOODSTONE. We believe that Bhisma Ratna and Sphatik are two names of the same stone. Like gomeda is refered to as "Karketana" in Sri Garuda Puranam. But we can know from the description. This is just our opinion. The difference in density between quartz and diamond is huge. Diamond is so condensed.
