Dear Richardsir,

yes, i too have heard that hatha jodi absorbs 1 litre til oil..but i

haven't tested this..i have seen hatha jodis and they never looked

fake although it does look like a bird body part...but in mumbai you

get them for rs 150-250 that is about 3 to 6 usd...but i dont think

any trader (i don't mean a website) gives a certificate of authencity

for this...generally, in india, traders of sacred objects behave as

if they are favouring the buyer....''only if the lord wants you to

get this can you buy this...'' is an oft-repeated quote which i

believe is true but misused by selfish traders...

now the prices i see of gems, conches and hatha jodis are shocking to

say the least...the other day, a trader from bihar who was part of

some tantra group claimed he had access to a INR 5 lakh 21-nail

tortoise..he was ready to hike the price by another INR 3 lakhs! He

said he had a blue sapphire which was to be sold for INR 25 Crores!

first the so called item has to be glorified as rare and sacred, then

you have people running mad after that, you can hike the price by at

least a few hundred times...of course, there are genuine people in

the trade...but they are hurtingly few..

warm regards

Dear Adi,

I agree with you on certain views. Indian sellers create a hype for

their articles and sell them at higher price. But the problem is to

diffrentiate it from original.

Originals have already been rare and expensive, so they are

replicated and sold. For example the hatha Jodi you are talking about

was tested by a lab in London and it was found to be a fake. It was

the bone of a bird.

Originals on the other hand are difficult to obtain and they really

reach a fortunate few. Please not that shastras also confirm that

originals of Sangus and other objects often reach the fortunate. So

it thereby falsifies itself that people of such order as street

sellers cannot obtain the real thing.

I can also quote you another example. People from regions near Nadiad

in Gujarat sell these objects all over India. I purchased Gorochons

from them. I knew the bolls were fake. Real gorochun looks black and

leaves orange Shade when it is rubbed. While what they were selling

was a orange powder tucked inside a rice paper boll. It was glued

with strange smelling object. It was a fake.

This forum is for helping out people. It is here to remove their

ignorance for certain objects which has just become a profitable

venture for few people in India. The photograph in the forum provide

the real view and is a really good area to learn the originality of

objects.

Dear Phadke sir, thank you so much...As I have been saying, your posts

always throw the much important light on the topics we discuss here...I

have heard many pundits say that hatha jodi will absorb oil...how much

they did not say..also, nobody quotes the scripture for this...

Thanks once again for your scientific perspective...

By the way, is your website up? Pls give the link...I request you to

make available Indonesian beads and lakshmi conches for many people like

me...best luck and warm regards>>aadi

There are very few chemicals (especially polymer molecules) which absorb

more quantity of water (not oil) than their mass.

in my earlier posting, all those so called Hatha Jodis were of animal

information about correct botanical name of Hatha Jodi. I also tried

internet search.

Dear Alokji,

I think I can safely say that I have seen real hatha jodis in

Mumbai..and some religious traders were selling them for INR 150-300...

For example the hatha Jodi you are talking about
