dear friends, as any medication has its positive affects they too are packaged

alongwith with their side-effects. A Physician can predict its occurence but not

its severity. Similarly a known side effect of Sapphire (Corrundum) Family is

that they heat you up, making you more prone to anger, irritation, mental

distress the likes. In these cases Ratnapana is a more effective tool Best

have read many stories on Blue Sapphire that they turn out to be very worst

sometimes and good at others. While the stories are true and being an

astrologer i have also come across such people who have faced it but i feel

this is because of some other reasons.I believe that flawless Gems never affect

badly. My belief is that only flawed Gems attract bad luck as this is been

mentioned in the sastras. I recently tested my sapphire when i was passing

through the Saturn sub-sub-sub period. A stone related to a planet in Rik

bhavas is not recommended in astrology. Yet i tried it and interestingly it

showed me very good results. It

was flawless and i remembered that i once tried a sapphire earlier which carried

inclusions. This sapphire always depressed me and i felt like denouncing the

world. They both were sapphires but only the flawed attracted the black

things. It seems that flawless gems are always helpful in some way or the

other.What is your opinion.Alok

Dear Hari,

I totally agree with you that stones should be recommended for

Anookool Grahas. But there are other things which should be noticed.

Stones are sophisticated set of equipments discovered by sages.

Compare them to the size of planets and you will see that such tiny

pieces have a power to change destiny. The micro inclusions and

bubbles inside stones alter the way our destiny works and can create

a negative effect. They are so small and so powerful that a slight

manufacturing and size variation can cause problems.

For example the cone or the tip of the stone should be in centre.

Whle this is been checked by certain high fi Jewellers, at other

times this is been ignored as well. The stone weight should not be in

round figures.

In Jaipur which is a hub of stone cutting market, i have seen that

most stones are round cuts and square cuts are not used. This is

done 'cause square cut has lesser possibility of windows as compared

to the round cut.

Stones are very powerful and so they require certain exact treatments

to their micro level.

These ideas are not taken from Sastras. But i still believe this, as

i have implemented the same on my clients.

Still stones should be given a test because even the best astrologers

cannot determine the negative traits of a planet. For example yellow

sapphire cannot be recommended to the following configration.

Jupiter in Cancer in Dhanu Lagna, Mars in Dhanu and Rahu in Pisces.

Moon is placed in Scorpio. Now though Jupiter is exalted, it is not a

a good Graha over here. Even a Shakata Yoga with Jupiter exalted can

create a porblem if yellow sapphire is worn.

Also it is interesting that Pukhraj is not Yellow sapphire. Pukhraj

is Yellow Topaz. Yellow Sapphire is Peela Neelam as it is found in

Sapphire mines.

Alok Jagawat

for a pilot testing period, of a week to see the suitability of a gem.

Sapphire.& to my surprise I found myself to have become very

aggressive at workplace. I told my gem retailer regarding this &

accused him of giving me an heated sapphire. To allay my fears he

offered me a 3 carat unheated loupe clean sapphire. This time around

I got the gem tested from 2 leading labs in delhi which verified his

claim to be true & without further adieu I got my talisman crafted.

After a week or so I found myself to pick a heated argument with my
