Here is some interesting info from my Godbrother, Sri Natabara das, ...

In regard to that wizard computer that calculated the date of Kali Yuga to

verify all the

planets were in Aries and did not find them, I did not know that Aryabharta gave

that

information.  I just came across that info from Thompson in his super CD

Mysteries of the

Universe.  I will investigate.

Thompson says, "Ayarbhatta assumed an exact mean conjunction if all the seven

planets

on the Kali Yuga date. How was the date selected in the first place?"

That is a good question and another question is this, "Ayarbhatta wrote that he

was 23

years old when 60 60-years cycles had elapsed in Kali Yuga (Dileshit 1969b p 55)

and this

was in 499).  He adds, "It would be interesting to know why the Surya Sidhanta's

theory of

precession happens to make the sky look the same in Ayarbhatta's life time as it

was on

the accepted beginning of Kali Yuga".

Here is a very interesting equation, which could be explained by quoting Srila

Prabhupada:

Bhaktivedanta VedaBase: Sri Caitanya Caritamr?ta Adi 3.29

Thinking thus, the Personality of Godhead, Sri Kr?s?n?a Himself, descended at

Nadia early

in the Age of Kali.

PURPORT

The prathama-sandhya is the beginning of the age. According to astronomical

calculation,

the age is divided into twelve parts. The first of these twelve divisions is

known as the

prathama-sandhya. The prathama-sandhya and ses?a-sandhya, the last division of

the

preceding age, form the junction of the two ages. According to the

Surya-siddhanta, the

prathama-sandhya of Kali-yuga lasts 36,000 solar years. Lord Caitanya appeared

in the

prathama-sandhya after 4,586 solar years of Kali-yuga had passed.

Here we read, "The prathama-sandhya of Kali-yuga lasts 36,000 solar years".

Thus we see

that 60 X 60 = 3,600 or 1/10 of the prathama.  In the past 30 years I have not

seen a

subdivision of a Prathama but it is likely to exist when we think that the

sodasavargas

divide a sign into 15 subdivisions.  In other words, there must be an important

measure of

time of 60 Brihaspati cycles that we are not yet aware.

Therefore I would say that here we have the answer to the 60 60-years cycle.

That is why

the Surya Sidhanta is referring to the sky looking similar in the Kali Yuga date

and

Ayarbhatta's time.
