Guest guest
Hi John, I have never seen reference to Amber in Vedic texts. I'm not sure it's sacred or not, because in Vedic tradition tree sap is considered as 25% the the sin of killing a brahmin - taken by the trees - to help Indra. So it has said that tree sap is sinful. But again, many things are made from tree sap, including rubber. So it doesn't make much sense. Guest guest
I know amber is sacred in some other traditions. Among the teutonic peoples it was believed to be the tears of the goddess Freya, and to the greeks it was the tears of the daughters of the sun, mouring their brother Phaeton. I know that amber is found in the himalayas, so I thought maybe it would be mentioned somewhere in the scriptures. If anyone runs across anything about it, let me know.
