Question: Is colorless quartz good for EVERYONE?

QUESTION: It is mentioned (in Sri Garuda Puranam) that anyone wearing a pure

quartz will

be benefitted. But if the horoscope of that person depicts the bad position of

venus or

Venus is in unfavourable condition then will wearing a Pure flawless quartz suit

him as

quartz relates to Venus?

How right you are!!! I quoted Sri Suta Goswami in Sri Garuda Puranam. I think it

is a

general statement meaning that "pure" quartz is an auspicious gem (as opposed to

flawed

which is bad influence).

 

Note, also, that quartz, as Venus gem, it is not very strong, like 1ct diamond =

1000 carat

quartz (in our opinion)

 

Still, quartz is a Venus uparatna, so it's use should be carefully considered in

view of the

position of Shukra in the janma-patri.

Many websites on Rudraksha and on Hindu spiritual

items show sphatik malas and quartz beads (Sphatik)

as spacers. What is your opinion?

Dear Chandrashekar,

 

Namaste!!! Colorless quartz is an auspicious gem with powers beyond my

experience.

According to Shastra it is highly recommended in flawless quality.

 

As for it's Venus aspect, that is very minimal. I have never heard of anyone

having bad luck

with quartz except when it's very flawed. And all the beads I have seen look

clean.

 

Conclusion is its OK for all people in small doses like you describe below, on

malas, etc.

regardless of Venus. We have a flawless quartz cut into a ball weighing half

KG, and that

is another story.

 

The only prohibition is against use of "flawed" quartz. Clean quartz is good for

all, except

Tyagi-Sadhus.
