India. The total 55 species which are forbidden conch species are

all decorative species. In Tamil Nadu, the Valampuri Conch is

regularly sold in shops. However, being a rare item a waiting list

is also maintained by these shops. Rich people book their conch in

advance. Rich people also offer Valampuri Conch to famous temples

openly. TheValampuri Conch is not listed in the concerned act. The

information is confirmed from the Tamil Nadu Govt.

this.
