Dear Mahadevaita Jee

Thank you for the message,

5 Mukhi The fullest representation of Lord Shiva. It will destroy

negative thoughts and emotions and grant the wearer peace of mind and

clarity of purpose. Helps achieve one's goals. All malas which are

used as japa mala (prayer beads) should be of five mukhi. There should

be 108 beads or, alternatively, 54.Doing Japa with five mukhi pleases

lord shiva, it is evident that japa meditation is far more than a

verbal exercise. It is a state of complete absorption.

There may be other types of japa meditation, but the broad theory and

techniques do not greatly vary. Approached with faith and devotion,

and carried out with perseverance, japa is the most direct path to God-

Realization.

With warm regards

There are so many places, especially in Hardwar. Panch Muhki rudrakshas are

almost never faked as they are so inexpensive. Just buy from a rudraksha place

in the bazaar, not on the street from a vendor, though even many of those for

panch muhkis will be fine.

Dear Mahadevaita jee

Thank you for writing to us,Please use different mala for jap and

other one for wearing. We should not wear and do jap with the same

Mala.

By wearing these beads one gets tranquility, peace of mind, focus

and concentration. This kind of state of mind is equally ideal for

meditation as well as for any other mind related activity by modern

day professionals. Concentration and focus are the most important

requirement for success in any field. Apart from 5 Faceted Rudraksha

Beads there are available from 1 Facet to 38 Facet Beads. From 15

Facet to 21 Facet it is available though not commonly. From 22 to 38

Facets it is rare. Other Beads apart from 5 Facets are more powerful

and have certain specific use. These different faceted beads

selectively alter personality and mindset in a positive way.

Rudraksha is meant for entire humanity. Rudraksha can rejuvenate our

Mind, Body and Soul, make us perform to our full potential and

enhance our overall quality of life. The anti aging property of

Rudraksha is well experienced. Rudraksha, the Electro Magnetic

Beads, are the Beads with a utility.

On seeing such powers of Rudraksha beads many considered it to have

Some supernatural powers, divine and Godsend. There have been

Countless mentions of these beads and it's powers in various ancient

Indian and Buddhist scriptures.

Our Moderator Sri Arjun jee can shed more light on this matter.

dear shiv bhakt jitendra

om namo bhagawate rudraya

two mukh round nepalese rudraksha is as rare as one mukh round

nepalese rudraksha. two mukh himalayan bead is available for few

hundred rupees which is small and little oval in shape. the other

bead which is told by the sellers as indonesia or rameshwaram etc.

is very wide in shape and is neither round nor oval. some people

say it is not a rudraksha at all. i have no knowledge on its

biological properties but it is widely believed that this is a

substitute to the two mukh rudraksha.

you can wear a single two mukhi rudraksha if it is nepalese or

himalayan. wearing a mala of 54+1 or 108+1 of the wide indonesian

rudraksha is not feasible nor advisable.

the real round nepalese ek mukh rudraksha is definitely powerful but

not available. hence its substitute kaaju ek mukh rudraksha is

widely recommended and used. it does not mean kaaju ek mukh

rudraksha is powerless. in all the wearers of this kaaju ek mukh

rudraksha, i observed peace of mind. all the wearers reported

maintaining a cool temper after wearing this kaaju ek mukh

rudraksha. however, these days small oval rudraksha of ek mukh

which looks round but are in reality oval shape, are also equally

powerful and are available at a fraction of the origianl nepalese

round ek mukh rudraksha. India's leading astrological software

Leogold maker Future Point, Delhi is selling this round ek mukh

rudraksha.

instead of branding nepalese or other origins, we can say that all

round rudraksha are superior to oval shaped rudraksha.

in praise of lord shiva and with best wishes

The Nepal rudraksha look more beautiful and are mainly used for Rudraksha

Jewellery. However, Indonesian rudraksha are mainly used for Japa Malas. I

have also observed that Indonesian rudraksha are more resistant to insects and

fungi. Indonesian rudraksha are more sturdy. Nepal rudraksha on the other

hand are more susceptible to insect and fungus attack. Nepal rudraksha

(especially higher mukhi beads) gets spoiled if proper care is not taken.

Lower mukhi Nepal rudraksha (4, 5 and 6 mukhi) are more sturdy. Round Ek

Mukhi Nepal rudraksha is available but is extremely rare in its occurrence.

Present market cost of Round Ek Mukhi Nepal rudraksha is in the range of Rs.

5,00,000/- to Rs. 10,00,000/-. The best option for round Ek mukhi rudraksha

as recommended in many books on Rudraksha is to use Gauri Shankar or Trijuti.

In fact, Trijuti is also

very expensive (approx. Rs. 5,00,000/-). The other best option for round Ek

mukhi Nepal Rudraksha is to use 'Savar Rudraksha'. This rudraksha is a type of

Gauri Shankar Rudraksha. In this type one of the partner bead is Roundish One

mukhi and the other partner bead is multimukhi bead like 4, 5 mukhi etc. This

bead is also known as Ishwar or Brahma rudraksha. Occurrence of 'Sawar

Rudraksha' is itself is a proof that Round Ek Mukhi Rudraksha does exists.

Cost of Sawar Rudraksha is in the range of Rs. 15,000/- to Rs. 35,000/-.

Two mukhi and three mukhi oval Indian rudraksha are two different species found

in the North India. These rudraksha are popularly known as Haridwar or

Deharadun two and three mukhi. As Shri. Arjuna ji has mentioned, these are

oval in shape. One mukhi genuine oval shaped rudraksha is also rarely

available and costs approx. Rs. 5000/-. Dehradun or

Haridwar One Mukhi Oval rudraksha is a morphological variation of three mukhi

oval rudraksha. In this type fake rudraksha are floating in the market. Two

mukhi flat rudraksha is a species Elaeocarpus tuberculatus. The famous

Cashewnut shaped Ek mukhi rudraksha is a morphological variation under the same

species. One mukhi, three mukhi and four mukhi flat rudraksha are also rarely

available under this species. Rarely you also get Gauri Shankar and Trijuti

rudraksha under this species. Flat rudraskha from this species are wrongly

mentioned as Bhadraksha. It is not correct. It is very funny that two mukhi

flat rudraksha is considered as Bhadraksha, however, Cashewnut shaped Ek mukhi

produced on the same plant is praised as One Mukhi, the King of Rudraksha. I

have personally confirmed the identity of these flat rudraksha including Cashew

nut shaped ek mukhi from the Royal Botanic Garden, Kew,

England. I have deposited some material in their herbarium. In Shiva Puranas

there are mantras to support both the views, i.e. 'Bigger is the better' and

'Smaller is the better'. Now it is a individual choice whether to use Nepal

rudraksha or Indonesian rudraksha. Thanking you and with best wishes,

rudraksha. In India, we get rudraksha trees in UP, MP, Maharashtra, Karnataka,

Tamil Nadu and in the North Eastern states. Indian rudraksha are light weight,

and with less rough surface than that of Nepal. The Nepal rudraksha look

OM Namah Shivaya

Namaste, I ordered a 5 mukhi mala from the Chinmaya mission website

(in US) and they say they get it from their Ashram in Mumbai. When I

washed the mala, it has some yellow color on the beads . Any clue what

it is and if it is genuine ? It is not haldi(turmeric) because if I

keep it in water, it keeps yellowing the water.

Please let me know.

thanks,

insecticidal/fungicidal compounds. There is no harm. You can wash off this

colour with luke warm water and soft soap. Dry your mala thoroughly, keep it

in strong sunlight for few hours. Keep your mala in oil for few hours. You

can use any oil. With best wishes, Chandrashekhar Phadke
