Guest guest
dear shiv bhakts om namo bhagawate rudraya for doing mantra japam, various asanas are used and their benefits are as follows: if a person does mantra japam sitting on a deer skin, it would fetch him "gnan" (knoweldge and wisdom) if a person does mantra japam sitting on a tiger skin, he would get "moksh" (salvation) if a person does mantra japam sitting on a darbha asan (kusha) the mantra attains siddhi. however, the indian government has banned sale, purchase and use of deer and tiger skins and anyone found possessing these can be imprisoned and this crime is also non-bailable. hence i suggest all shiv bhakts to use only darbha (kusha) asan. in praise of lord shiva and with best wishes arjun , Aravind Kumar <aravind_kumar_32 wrote: > > Greetings to all > > I would like to enquire if anyone knows what is the usage of this skins. Guest guest
Dear Arvind Kumar ji, In astrology Lal Kitab advises to keep a deer skin in the house for those who have a malefic Mars in their horoscope. I haven't come across any astrological reference to a tiger skin. Guest guest
Dear Friend First of all i must tell you that deer and tiger skins are banned things and keeping them without registration comes under wild life protection act. Secondly Lal Kitab is not an astrological treatise and no good or learned astrologer ever uses it. It is more of a Hoax been produced by some people to earn money. No body is sure of its origin and it has no astrological validity. Tiger skin and Deer Skin are mentioned in Mantra Mahodadhi and Tantra Maharnav. They are used for performing sacred Tantric Poojas and should be avoided by Vaishnavas. Please forgive me if i sound rude somewhere. !! ITI SHUBHAM !! Guest guest
dear shiv bhakt om namo bhagawate rudraya i already mentioned the basis of the usage of skins for japam and also the reference of classics like mantra maharnava and various other books. all mantra, yantra, tantra books mention this. i can give verse and page numbers of books and publisher details also. since you are interested in knowing the basis as to where i found their mention, i repeat it was recommended by various sages through their samhitas. but in the present desha, kala, vartamana paristhiti, it is not prudent on us to disucss further on these issues in public forums on a banned product and validation of their usage. in praise of lord shiva and with best wishes arjun , Shiv Sewak <shiv_sewak wrote: > > I did read all of your message. You may not recommend such use and the Indian Government may in any event prohibit such use but there must be some basis for the statements you may make and that is what I wanted to learn of. > > Do not make assumptions about what I, or indeed anyone else, may have read and understood from your posting. > > panditarjun2004 <panditarjun2004 wrote: > dear shiv bhakt > om namo bhagawate rudraya > > seems like you did not read the full mail where in the end two > paragraphs prohibition about usage of these items and my suggestion > of using only darbha (kusha) grass asan is mentioned. > > before responding to a mail, kindly read the full mail, understand > the message a mail denotes or connotes. you were writing as if we > are recommending use of these animal skins in which case you have > not only misunderstood the whole mail but are also sending a wrong > message. > > as for source is concerned, i can quote ten old classics written in > sanskrit starting from "mantra maharnava". mention of using these > skins for japam is there in various samhitas written by the sages > thousands of years ago. all shankaracharyas used deer and tiger > skins. > > I REPEAT, i am not recommending or supporting use of animal skins > and instead i suggest all shiv bhakts to use ONLY KUSHA (DARBHA) > GRASS. > > in praise of lord shiva and with best wishes > arjun > > , Shiv Sewak > <shiv_sewak@> wrote: > > > > I shall be grateful if someone would kindly specify the source for > these statements. Guest guest
Namaste, The deer or antelope is a signature of Rudra (and Krishna). The tiger or lion is a sign of Shakti (Paravati or Durga). Shiva on a deer skin is an image of pure Shiva, while Shiva on a tiger skin is an image of Shiva-Shakti.
Guest guest
A Yogi meditating on an animal skin is uniting the Pashu with the Pati. A Yogi meditating on a deer skin is particularly uniting the Rudrah with Rudra. A Yogi meditating on a tiger skin is particularly uniting Shakti with Shiva. Guest guest
Hello, Deer and Tiger skins are banned atleast from sources in India. You can possibly go for a legal deer hunt in US or Australia. Legal tiger skins can be aquired from animals hunted pre 1971. It should cost you INR 10 lac + depending on the quality and the size. A real good condition legal tiger skin of a tiger 8 feet plus would be around 40 lacs or so. Well this is what i have heard and have no intend of buying it. Deer skin is ideal asana for meditation and Tiger skin is the best. I do not prescribe the use of animal products personally except for food :-) regards, Jay sacred-objects, Aravind Kumar <aravind_kumar_32 wrote: > > Greetings to all > > I would like to enquire if anyone knows what is the usage of this skins.
