Sh. Harshaji,

Pooja

is the first step to train or prepare mind for meditation. The rules set forth

for getting in to the meditation are prescribed by

Aryans. While reading epics or Purans one may find the discussion between a king

and the holy persons (Rishis). During such clarification meetings, the presiding

Rishi Says, Bhagavan Shiv explained Parvati…… Brahma said so etcetera. Perhaps

this method is adopted to bring authority to the version presented.

In certain incidents Lord Vishnu fights with Lord Shiva to prove supremacy. With

my limited knowledge, I believe these are the opinions of those great

personalities and they wanted to pass on to the succeeding generations by

adopting this method.

Veda

and Upanishads preach that through faith and complete surrender to Lord by

shedding ego would lead one to ultimate goal. All 18 Purans were written by

Maha Rishi Vedavyas on the instruction of his father before starting Kali yug

to retain

Dharma (Righteousness) among people. While writing Vishnu Puran he portrayed

Lord Vishnu as Supreme God and none else. Similarly in Shiv Puran Shiva was

given utmost importance and described Him as the ultimate GOD. MahaRishi

Vyas was not a politician and did not wish to create differences among the

people. Perhaps he might think to glorify the leading GOD for the people who

select Vishnu Puran

as Vishnu is their favourite God. Similarly that who studies Shiv Puran, Lord

Shiva was engorged as they are the disciple of

Lord Shiva. For adequate emphasis was given to the prime God of the concerned

Puran and made HIM/HER as unique.

Another factor is that certain Dharma, rituals, customs and traditions are yuga

based and are not applicable to all times. This is accepted as Yug

Dharma. One need not criticize or feel misinterpretation as long as it is not

harming the people who follows it or believes it. If one believes that it is

not the right path shall follow the advices given by ones soul.

I wish to clarify here that there is no intention to hurt any honourable member

of this group by expressing this way. It is only a thought which I believe all

the times. I wish I should be wrong.

AUM Namah Shivaya
