Translation 79: Ill Stars and how to propitiate them by bestowal (dana)

of gems:

 

When the Sun is hostile (donate) a pure ruby; when the Moon, a good

pearl; when Mangala, a good coral; when Budha, a good emerald; when

Brihaspati, a good yellow sapphire; when Shukra, the diamond; when

Shani, a good blue sapphire; when Rahu, the gomeda; and when Ketu, a

good cat's eye, should be donated

 

Translation 80-81: Ill Stars and how to ward them off by wearing

(dharan) of gems:

 

If the Sun is adverse, (wear) the cat's eye; if the Moon, the blue

sapphire; if Mangala, the ruby; if Budha, the ruby too; if Vrihaspati,

the pearl; if Shukra, the diamond; if Shani, the great blue sapphire;

if Rahu, the gomeda, and if Ketu, the emerald, should be worn.

Regards to all. I am a new member of this group and would like to shed some

light on the beautiful information provided by Mr. Richard. As has been

mentioned below which gems are to be used to guard against ill impact of

differnt planets, I would like to elaborate on the logic behind. Here is goes:

If the Sun is adverse, (wear) the cat's eye;

 

Because the Sun is the King of Planets and when the King is against, only

exemplarory courage can work for you i.e. Ketu, the planet denoting fine

aggression and martial arts.

 

if the Moon, the blue sapphire;

 

The Moon denotes the state of mind and when Moon is causing harm in a nativity

it misleads the thoughts irrespective of the intellectual aspect of the native

concerned. The Saturn is the only planet which denotes deep thinking and

lazy-ness and it is because of this reason the wearing of Blue Sapphire makes a

hasty person think over the way he reacts in general, thus helping against

malefic influence of Moon in the Chart.

 

if Mangala, the ruby;

 

As has been said, the Sun is the King while the Mars (Mangala) is the leader of

the Army (Senapati). So only the King can safe-guard the native from the

powerful Admiral (Mars)

 

if Budha, the ruby too;

 

The mercury i.e. Budha rules analytical power as well as business acumen of the

native and is said to be the Prince (Yuvaraj) among the planets. So here also,

it is only the Sun i.e. the King who can over-power the Prince and can be a

savior to the native.

 

 

if Vrihaspati,the pearl;

 

Jupiter is a planet of spirituality, character, wisdom and intelligence And

ill-placed and malefic Jupiter can mislead the native in afore mentioned

aspects. It is only with the aid of calm and controlled mind that these

discrepancies can be dealt properly.

 

if Shukra, the diamond;

 

Venus, the planet of wealth, wife and luxiries is said to be the Guru of Asuras

and well versed with all mundane skills. It is one of the most Powerful planet

which can provide each and everything on earth to a native. Being the Brahmin

Guru, even the Sun can not negate is completely and only Venus can provide the

native the monetary and wordly gains.

 

if Shani, the great blue sapphire;

 

Saturn when having malefic impact in a nativity can cause the native accident

prone, age-loss, lazy and health problems. Somewhere, it has been said that

the Ruby i.e. the Sun can make for it but because it has also been said that

Saturn is the son of the Sun and it has caused severe pain to his father as

such it is very strong. So wearing of Blue Sapphire can help a native with

weak, ill placed or malefic Saturn. Besides this, wearing of Emerald and Ruby

has also been found suitable.

 

if Rahu, the gomeda,

 

Rahu is a shadowy planet denoting manipulation and diplomacy. It also helps

when applied in a controlled way. Wearing of Emerald and Pearl has also been

seen to provide ample relief when Rahu is not good in the chart.

 

and if Ketu, the emerald, should be worn.

As indicated earlier, Ketu is a martial planet full of anger and aggression. It

is only with analytical approach that the strength of Ketu can be of any good so

Emerald (Mercury) can help in dealing with malefic impact of Ketu in a chart.
