Guest guest
Sh. Hemajith, The Lord is a positive force with no trace of negativity. Worshipping God would bring pleasure, and calm the mind. This stimulates fresh thoughts and doubts in ones mind are clarified. While doing meditation, one should not so much attached to the physical rituals and the method. It is expected that one should follow them in a dedicated manner. By not being attached physically, the mind is tuned and receptive to the spiritual energy. This is the true meaning of Idol worships or "Murty Pooja" as per Upanishads. This stage is followed by "Maansik Pooja". One can install the representation of Lord in any form made of any material. Be it Earth, Metal, Glass, or Rock. It is believed that the idol (Lingam) gets more and more invigorated by offering Pooja in day- to-day basis. To bring this effect pooja is warranted on daily basis. It will not give any ill effect if Pooja is not performed due to any unavoidable reason. Guest guest
The reason to do everyday pooja is to regulate a habit of remembering GOD. Abhishekam is something which you do to GOD to show your gratitude and your one of your offering in his name.2) Mantras - Should be recited so that your Outer Ear can hear and get into the inner ear. This way you will remember and enjoy the vibrations of the Mantra. Later as you practice then you can recite in your mind (This is far advanced stage of Meditation). Hope this helpsAnandOn 1/26/06, ram chandra <ram_fca > wrote: Sh Rao Garu I have a question and may be it is silly How should we chant mantras , that is , should we chant aloud or can we also do it in our hearts RegrdsKS Rao <kasturisrao > wrote: Sh. Guest guest
Sh.Ramachandra, "Mantram Rahasyam" is the saying of Aryans. Trere are three modes of Chanting Mantra. 1) "Mounam Uttamam" Chanting Mantra with in is the most wanted method. 2) "Naadam Madyamam" Chanting Mantra with murmering sound is produces medium effect. 3) "Ucchaswaram Neecham" Chanting Mantra loudly gives low effect. Now let's discuss it and try to understand the implied meaning of these three modes. It is advised to chant Mantra with in is to reach the stage of "turiya" wiyh in minimum possible time. Where as with Naada or murmering, one may not reach "Turiya" slowly. If Mantra is chanted loudly the one may not focus his mind on mantra as well as the Lord. This is possible when mantra is chanted with in.There are exceptions to it. All mantras from Sama Ved shall be chanted loudly with the specified rhyme and rhythm. All Sama Ved mantras in general are chanted in chorus to give pleasure to the listeners and for the people who chant them too. It is advised to start with, one may chant mantra loudly and goes to the stage of uttering it with in.
