linga at home and are pretty casual about it which confuses the hell out of me

becuase I have been thinking about getting one at some point in time becuase

the Siva-Purana gives a lot of significance to praying Siva Linga. But I guess

from what you are saying, my reservations about having a Linga in the house is

probably correct. Is 1 mukhi rudraksha still available these days?Bhupendra.---

Hello there

First of all please accept my apologies for writing this. I am not qualified in

giving advice of religious matters. Therefore please read by all means but act

upon it only if your heart agrees to it.

God is equally kind in all of His manifestations. However being the

multi-coloured/multi-faith human beings we are, we see Him in many different

forms. It does not matter to Him what form of Him we worship or if we

outwardly worship Him at all. Our connection to the divine is from within.

What matters in the end is what is in the deepest portions of your

consciousness. Sometimes the self within causes us to view incidents in a

particular light. Maybe the Kind divine is trying to hint you that you do not

need to make the pilgrimage all of the time but ease off a bit and try and let

Him guide you rather than you pushing for results in the way that you see

right. Maybe your good deeds have blessed you and your family in such a way

that you do not need to go to a particular place to connect to the divine but

rather you can connect to Him wherever you happen to be. Having objects

connecting the conscious mind to the divine are only the first step towards

realization of the divine. However these objects and their worship in it's own

is not sufficient to realize the Creator. We need to shed all (bad, indifferent

and good) within before we can even glimpse the divine nature of Siva.

Therefore my advice to you coming from a brother to brother would be just to

ease off from zealously pursuing a single path. Sometimes all we have to do is

to take a step back and suddenly we can see the door through which we can easily

walk rather than trying to push our way through the brick wall.

May god help you in your pursuit................

Kind regards

Anand

You are very correct, Lord Shiva or the creator above

is very kind and loving, he will not count howmay

times we chant his mantra or how many times we visited

his temple, he will see how good we are, how kind we

are and how compassionate we are, because he is like

that.

It is very simple, we expect our children to be like

us, and same with lord, he expects us to be like him.

Om namah shivaya,

Divakar.

Sh. Ramachandra,

With all due respect to the versions given by honourable members of

the group, It is felt that the following matter may be of some value.

The Almighty, Lord Shiva is "Nirgun, Niraakaar, and Sarvaataryaami".

God can only know to bless and protect people who believe him and pray

him. There is no reason to get a bad or unwanted experience when one

is praying with all dedication. It does not matter whether you are

chanting a mantra or just taking his name or repeating a mere

numerical in his name.

In our life when one starts a new routine there would be expectation,

this expectation makes one to look at the happennings with great care

and in a magnifying manner. If a desirerable effects results, one

attributes it to the efforts put farward till then. If an unwanted

thing happens it is attributed to the efforts made. It is the state of

mind but not the result of the prayers.

Please drive away such feelings The Almighty is a positive energy and

Positiveforce having nil percentgae of any negativity.

Regarding worship, there are in numerable "mantras" available from

Vedas, Puranaas. One should select the mantra appealing and comfort

giving while chanting. It shall give a pleasant feeling. Some likes

single word mantras, the other an eloborated procedure with Mantra.

Both are right in their place as the one selected is giving a

satisfactory feeling after chanting it.

All the best,

AUM Nanah Shivaya
