MUDRAS

 

14.

SUNYA MUDRA

 

Bent the Madhyam (Middle finger) to the base of

Angustha (Thumb) while Angustha (Thumb) entwining madyam (Middle finger). The other

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fingers Tarjani (index Finger), Anamika

(Ring Finger) and kanistha (Little finger) shall be kept straight.

 

This Mudra corrects ENT problems. It bestows quick effects on problems associated with Ear.

 

15.

CUP MUDRA

 

All corresponding finger tips of both hands are brought to touch each other.

Right palm is placed on the left palm. This Mudra is utilized in best manner

while practicing Hatha yoga. The order of placing one palm over the other shall

match with Padmasana posture. That is if right leg is placed on the left leg

correspondingly right palm shall be kept on the top of left palm and vice

versa.

 

This

Mudra balances flow of prana to the left and right sides of the body.

 

 

 

 

 

 

16.

GOMUKHA MUDRA

 

This Mudra is similar to

Cup Mudra except that Angustha (Thumb fingers) entwine with each other. It

advised to change the position of

Angusthas (thumbs) after every 10 minutes to create balance of prana flow. That

is, if right Angustha (Thumb) envelopes left; after passage of ten minutes; the

left

Angustha (Thumb) shall envelope right. Here right Angustha (thumb) represents

physical body and left represents the mind.

 

This Mudra keeps Physical body and mind in equilibrium while doing meditation.

 

17.

Surya Mudra

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tip of the Anamika (Ring Finger) shall touch the base of Angustha (Thumb).

Angustha shall be gently bent over Anamika (Ring Finger)

Mellows heaviness of the mind;

Trim down the fat in the body;

Controls weight of the body
