very much for your mail,Even i notice small crack in 4,6,8,9 mukhi.I think they

were before you started wearing. As per my personal experience, few rudraksha

after drying may develop minor fractures in its mouth region. I have observed

that especially 4, 5 and 6 mukhi beads though initially are without any

fractures, develop fine fractures after 7 to 8 months. Such minor fractures

can be ignored as they do not do any harm to the bead. I have also observed

that rudraksha develop major cracks mainly due to absorbtion of water or

moisture regularly. Rudraksha cracks more than 1 mm.

wide may spoil rudraksha. Please seek advice from Sri Arjunji and Sri

chandrashekhar phadke ji could help in this regard.Thanking you and with best

Thanks Arjun Ji and Prasana Ji,

I had written to Supplier in Nepal..as per him..some of the beads when get

ripened on

the tree itself develop minor cracks..so no need to worry and i should continue

to wear

them..

when i tried to probe the cracks with the sewing pin..i could not really be sure

if there

are cracks or minor grooves..in 4 and 6 mukhi ..only 8 mukhi seems to have

cracks in

3-4 grooves ..may be it is over ripened..

may be either they were there before i starting wearing the mala or got

developed after i

oiled them with mustrd oil..

here i would listen to my antaratman and would continue to wear them..

the cracks are very minor and are not widening..

also i had written to Sh. Dharam Dev Arya Ji of Rudraksha Ratna ( US ) and he

wrote

that he also wears cracked beads out of respect..

i also donot feel like discarding rudraksha just bcose of cracks..let Lord Shiva

HIMSELF discard them in case they fall on the ground.. when i sense that they

will fall

down then i will replace them..

My mala was energized in Pashupati Nath Temple.. i feel if the cracks appear in

the

beads while wearing, then it is only an adjustment to ones trinity..as when the

knowledge is revealed by Sad Shiva..Body is very weak to bear it..

Once again i bow to Shiva in all of us..

Om Namah Shivaya Namah Om.

maintained by

the wearers by soaking them in gentle olive oil for few hours and then clean

with a

toothbrush gently. some rudraksh are prone to get insects which eat the inner

portin

and also create holes in the rudraksh but such rudraksh float in the water.

since

rudraksh have these botanical properties, they have thier own wear and tear.

but well

maintained rudraksh are worn for 100 years and even afterwards passed on to the

next

generation.

cracks.

since you found cracks in the smaller face rudraksh, you can easily replace them

so as

to avoid the cracks widening further and then falling on the ground suddenly.

as you

may be aware two, three, four, five, six and seven mukh rudraksh are available

at

prices less than rs.100 and you can easily go for replacement.

Dear Anil ji,

I bow to shiva in you,

Well said your words will help our members in educating the confusion

about crack in beads.I wish to add more to what you said. Many people

are of the opinion that any rudraksha showing some fractures does not

give desirable results. These people cosider such rudraksha as 'Khandit

(cracked) rudraksha'. However, I am of the opinion that one should not

give much stress on this opinion. Rudraksha extracted from plant may

have only one natural hole in the head region. This natural hole is of

a peduncle(stalk of Rudraksha) attachment. To make rudraksha mala one

has to drill a hole in its tail or botton region. Can we describe such

rudraksha as Khandit ? If we call such rudraksha as Khandit then it

will be difficult for every body to use rudraksha mala. You're blessed

to get Rudraksha as a Pra Shiva Bhakta, why worry leave it lord shiva.

with best wishes
