Guest guest
skills. 6. Germs are the main cause of disease. 7. The body has no capacity to fight disease without the help of a doctor. There is no internal correction system. 8. The body/mind complex cannot renew itself. 9. The external/internal environment is an enemy which is constantly seeking to destroy the body. 10. Nature is powerless against disease. 11. Disease is static and it can be fought only by medicines at the material plane. However almost all other forms of alternate healing are of the opinion that; 1. Symptoms are the body's language trying to point out the source of the problem or trying to let the body/mind/intelligence complex know that some anomaly has ocurred. 2. Disease begins at the karmic plane making its way down through the mental/emotional plane into the physical body. Problems at the physical level is the last stage of disease. 3. Only the soul is disease free, man can be diseased at all other levels. 4. Not all diseases go against the body, many are a part of the development process (birth-childhood-youth-adult-old age-death) and indicate correctional processes taking place within the body which is trying to throw away toxins of the process. 5. The patient knows best, the physicians job is to assist the patient in his attempts to set right the malady and regain his former state of health. 6. Cracks in the immune system lead to disease. Germs cannot thrive unless an internal error has ocurred laying down the foundation of disease. In some cases the germs also may be the scavengors trying to remove the waste products generated as the immune system fights the disease. 7. The body is fully equipped to fight disease and the physician should interfere with proper life saving and vitality building exercises only when he feels that the vital force is loosing against the disease force. 8. The body/mind complex knows fully well what to do at every stage in case of disease unless its diagnostic and healing abilities have been severely compromised by human and mechanical forces. The inherent healing force of the body always tries to throw out the disease force from within outwards. 10. Though the environment and internal system is constantly at a state of flux the inherent idea is to achieve equilibrium and not to lead to further chaos. The position changes only at advanced old age when the soul starts preparing to shed the old body and acquire a new one. 11. Disease is a dynamic force and the physician should be able to deal with it at a dynamic level. If disease is not dynamic it can not affect the dynamic life/vital force in the first place. All alternate methods recognise the life force, the vital energy that maintains life, and say that dis-ease occurs when the normal flow of the life force is disturbed by physical, mental, emotional or spiritual anomalies. There is also an attempt to recognise man as a part of nature, both sustaining it and being sustained by it. It is only recently that streams of medicine like eco-medicine and many branches of psychiatry (body-mind medicine) are peeping into the complex nature of disease and unravelling the time-tested truths that have always been a part of our grandmother recipes. By following the principles of alternative healing methods we don't "fall back into superstition" but uncover our roots, our connection with nature and the Universe. Alternative medicine is based upon harmony unlike modern medicine which harps on enmity and fear. I think now the position of modern medicine vis a vis alternate medicine is somewhat clear. Keeping in view the new paradigm of interconnectivity being advocated by scientists (new to the modern, not the ancient), the purely physical and reductionist views of modern medicine seem crude and primitive. Merely flashing gadgets or diagnostic tools do not lead us closer to good health. The ultimate reality is a subject of intuition and personal realisation. Health is thus a personal matter. It is the adoption of faulty methods that has brought us to a stage where even normal and instinctive bodily functions cannot be performed without medication. Guest guest
Dear Jagannath, Thanks for sharing a Very good article about alternate medicine or holistic medicine and its outlook and approach compared to allopathic medicine. The increase in killer diseases like diabetes, heart disease and cancer are making people to look for holistic treatments, These holistic treatments are always there, since the spirituality is decreasing people have lost touch with them, God and angels are again raising awarenes of these spiritual healing approaches to heal this world and bring back spirituality and love. our old scriptures talk about life energy and its healing effects, enlightened spiritual souls like Shiridi Saibaba, Jesus Christ are holistic healers, the life energy and love emanating from them healed people. Though they are physically not present now they are still continuing the healing spiritually at a very higher plane. Each soul is a healer by itself, we just have to realize our inner potential of healing using life force or love, there are innumerable ways to use lifeforce to heal our selves and others, Reiki, prayer, Chanting mantras, om chanting and other pranik healings. we can all be healers and heal this world. we are going through testing times on this earth, toomuch of materialism, lack of spiritualism, global warming, etc are destroying this world, we have to heal ourselves spiritually and karmically and we have to heal others, we have to spread love and heal the earth. Love heals, Om namah shivaya, Divakar. --- Jagannath Chatterjee <jagchat01 wrote: > Dear Friends, > > I am enclosing a comparative analysis of the > modern medical view of disease vis a vis the > holistic or alternative medical system view which is > more spiritual in origin. Guest guest
Recently I saw a tv show about a man in india who got healed by chanting the maha mrutyunjaya mantra. This person is a chronic diabetic and doctors (allopathic) doctors have suggested to ampute his right leg to prevent the infection from spreading to other parts of the body, he had no choice. But his inner voice has suggested that he try spiritual ways, his brother suggested chanting Maha Mrutyunjaya mantra and he consulted a spiritual guru who taught him the mantra. After chanting the mantra for a few days this person is completely healed, he can walk now, he avoided amputation. This shows in most cases healing is not at physical body, it is done spiritually and karmically. People have to be aware of this life foce which heals, and we all have this life force, this awareness will increase our health, spiritualism, faith in god and make our life holistic. Guest guest
Dear Anil & Divakara, Namaste. Thank you both for your enlightening response. I think much of the current resurfacing of interest in spirituality comes from facing personal horrors in the health front. We must thank allopathy for that!! Life is cyclical and errors lead us back to God through pain and suffering. As ayurveda went out of our lives the concept of the practice of brahmacharya (celibacy) too was shown the door. Modern medicine said sex was therapeutic and that more was better. Sattwic food too was declared non-nutritious and animal food was advocated. Animal serums were injected as vaccines thus contaminating our DNA structure and pushing animal like qualities into us. Processed foods and market produce replaced home grown vegetables and fruits. Mass production favoured the use of lethal pesticides. Chemical poisons replaced herbals. Parties replaced pranayama. In my childhood I had witnessed an award winning Bengali film on the life of a traditional ayurved. He watched helplessly as life giving principles were replaced with "scientific thought". People shied away from his advice on shunning greed and lust for a healthy life. The last straw was his own son deciding to study modern medicine blaming his fathers profession for the family's poverty. Old and haggard, but spiritually strong the ayurved became a recluse occasionally pondering about the host of life sapping diseases that would grip mankind if natural laws were flouted. The people continued to ignore him and laughed at his outdated theories. The last scene showed the healer studying his own pulse to determine how much longer he had to live and suffer the crticism his village folk showered on him. In the times of Lord Chaitanya there lived in Jagannath Puri a devotee called Achyutananda. He was an Indian Nostradamus and made many prophecies about the future. One of them is very appropriate for our current subject; "In the Kali Yuga," he wrote 500 years ago, "will emerge a group of people who will know nothing about disease nor of cure but will be revered as doctors". In Oriya, to quote his exact words, "Roga na janibe, nidana na janibe, baidya bolaibe". Regards, Jagannath.
Guest guest
Dear Jagannath, Totally agree with you, we all have to wish, pray, hope and work for spreading the importance and significance of holistic spritutal treatments and practices, we as spiritual people have seen a lot of miracles, the cases declared by doctors as hopeless have come back to life. Lord shiva is the highest healer all spiritual healing is done through him. thanks for sharing and enlightening the group with very important and significant information.
