You please chant God's name every day. There is no specific time for chanting God's name. We can repeat while bathing, walking, eating and so on. Sai baba wants us to repeat God's name to have close union with GOD. Please repeat lords name (any name like Rama,Krishna,Siva, sai or other) from inner heart with love(that is important). Guest guest Posted November 18, 2005 Report Share Posted November 18, 2005 Please forgive me if I am ignorant and let me know how did you conclude that way? why is god always right? why do we have to see him? on what basis God will decide if we can see him? there has to be some logic and simply God cannot decide with our lives on they fly, all the struggle and triumphs we go through our life should have some purpose. I feel god is everywhere, we can feel him, we can see him in every living thing, where there is love there is god. Like we can see evil in people we can see god also in people, God is in goodness, friendship, sacrifice, love and compassion. In this kaliyuga Just chanting of god's name is equivalent to that type of sadhana or meditation. See for example air is there everywhere, but can anybody seeing air or is there any chance of seeing air or anybody told i have seen air. No not at all. But air is there everywhere and we are breathing. Like the same, god is there every where, we have to feel Divinity in the same way. And simultaneously do activities or seva which pleases god. Means helping others and do help who are in need or unhealthy etc.. And try to develop pure love towards god and all other beings ( not only human but also animals, birds etc...). Don't hurt anybody. When one experiences the Divine, he sees the Divine in everything Chanting and Selfless Service both are needed for god's realisation. Through this way of life Human can become divine, then you will have darshan of Lord Shiva. But brother remember one thing your desire is great and nice but all this not possible in a single day. It may take some months or years depending upon the purity of soul. Please be Patience. Praying Lord Mahadeva that soon you will achieve your goal. May god Shiva bless all of us. They felt very thirsty. They could not catch sight of a well or a lake anywhere. They trudged along. At last they saw a well and ran towards it. They eagerly looked into it. There was water in the well. But how could they drink? There was neither a rope nor a vessel to draw water. There was no question of somehow going into the well as the well was in a dilapidated condition. Jnaana Dev simply closed his eyes as if in prayer. Soon he was transformed into a bird. He flew into the well and drank water to his fill. Naama Dev began chanting the name of Lord Vittal with intense devotion. The water level began to rise slowly until at last the level of water was within the reach of Naama Dev. He just put his hands into the well and drank water to his fill. Such is the power of naamasmarana. Guest guest Posted November 18, 2005 Report Share Posted November 18, 2005 I agree with Sh.Ramesh, Nama java is the easiest and powerful way to get close to God, from my experience, I like to do nama japa as I can do it anytime I like and I find my energy levels go up, I feel a kind of peace and presence of Lord Shiva with me. I always liked Lord Shiva form childhood( for reasons I do not know), when I do the japa, I feel the energy and I feel the lord is with me, looking at me, I feel very comfortable, Initially I had my doubts, I thought these are illusions or imagination, but the more I do the japa I feel more energy and a sense of peace which cannot be illusion. If the repitition of mantra leads to Union with God, then using a tape recorder or computer program for endless japa is the best.( How about purchsasing a parrot, teaching it a mantra and then watch it become a Maharishi!) If feelings of energy are indications of awakening that people riding on a roller coaster must all be Siddhas. People float on the surface of a incredible vast lake of pure cool, sweet water while crying out Water, water, water and in their their minds holding onto its image while dying of thirst. What are the rules and how is it performed? Also please explain what is sankalpa japa. Very recently, when for 4 hours i saw Brahma in everything..i saw a purpose in everything..and though i did have all kinds of feelings in my daily activities during those 4 hours..but i felt it in everything.. in my feelings even..it was in goodness, badness, cars honking, large patholes on roads and my disgust on those bumps, tree leaves, my PC keyboard keys..my annoyance to front car on the road.. everything.. without judgement..and in myself as an observer to all this.. and since it happened practically with me..so there is no doubt about it..it was a wonderfull experience.. but it faded soon after 4 hours or so by 2 pm..and has not come back..but it taught me that each and everything in this world has a purpose ... of creation, sustainence and annihilation in form or no form..and this isness is the GOD..divinity.. Guest guest Posted November 19, 2005 Report Share Posted November 19, 2005 This is my opinion, correct me if I am wrong, it is true you feel the energy surge when you meditate and stay focussed on meditation. But Ego and god or spiritualism do not go together, if you let go of your ego completely (it is not easy to do) then your thinking and spirit will merge with divine, I think this is the real awakening you can call what ever you want. There are ways to do it, the ones I know 1. Service 2. Self-realization through meditation, which will lead to service as you will realize your duty towards god. 3. A Great Saivite Acharya Tirunavukkarasar (Lived in South India in the 7th A.D and he put an end to the influence of Jainism ) says: “Everything is the manifestation of Lord Siva. Siva is Narayana, Brahma, the four Vedas, the holiest, the oldest, the perfect. Though Siva is all these, He is none of these. He is without name, without birth, death or disease. He is at once the transcendent and immanent. “Love of Lord Siva must be felt and manifested. Sing. Pray. Worship. Weep. Dance. Lord Siva is the music or melody in the song, the sweetness in the fruit, the thought in the mind, the lustre in the eyes. He is neither male nor female. He is without dimensions. “Subdue the senses. Practise regular meditation. Practise Chariyai, Kriyai, Yoga and Jnana. Practise regular meditation. Develop dispassion (Vairagya). Transcend the three bodies. Unite the individual soul with the Supreme Soul or Lord Siva. You will attain eternal bliss and immortality. You can behold Lord Siva if you look for Him with the light of wisdom issuing forth from the wick of life, fed with the ghee of meditation, in the lamp of the mind, within the house of your body. “Plough with truth. Plant the seed of desire for knowledge. Weed out falsehood. Irrigate the mind with the water of patience. Supervise your work by looking within or introspection and self-analysis. Build the fence of Yama and Niyama or right conduct and right rules. You will soon attain Sivanandam or eternal bliss of Siva. “Regard your body as the temple of Lord Siva, your mind as the worshipper, truth as purity which is necessary for worship, the jewel of the mind as the Linga, love as the ghee, milk, etc. Perform Puja to Lord Siva thus.
