In all the siva temple where the murthy is in Linga form, a vessel

with a small whole (Dhara Patram) is hung over the linga and a drop of

water falls on linga always. What is the significance of this?

Lord Shiva is Abhisheka Priya , Lord is Bhola Shankar and He is happy

with continuous Abhishekam with simple water - Jalabhishekam and/or

Bhasma-

abhishekam. Lingam represents fiery pillar of fire and It has to be

kept Pacified by continuous water pouring. Shiva has swallowed

Haalaahalam The entire universal pollutants to save the humanity and

the least we can do for the lord by constant soaking with water.

Hara Hara Mahadeva Sambho Shankara Parvathi Pathaye Om NamaSSivaaya

Namaha Om.

Prabhu Shri Ramachandraji, accept my namaskarams.

To the extent what I know...

Lord Mahadeva due to his intense medidation for the welfare of all worlds,

generates a lot of heat. This heat is many times strong than sun or swayam Agni

himself. So water which cools Agni is used to cool Lord Mahadeva. A water drop

dripping will make the Lord Mahadeva very happy and pleasefull. I do know that

giving Dhara to Lord Mahadeva will help in all ways of life for the jiva.

Lord Shiva is worshipped as Nirvikar, Nirgunarup, Neraakaar roop. Shiv Lng is

symbolically representing these qualities. Further Lord shiva always satisfies

with Abhishek where as Lord Vishnu likes to be adored with ornaments (Vishnu

alankaara priyam). To arrange nityabhishek to the lord Dhara patra is hung

above Shiv Ling so that the disciples pour water in it with Shraddha and

bhaktti. It is important to place a few flowers over Shiv Ling underneath the

flow to avoid pitting of the top surface.

Aum Namah Shivay.

The question can be reframed scientifically

Does the structure of neclear reactor resemble shiva

linga and what is the purpose of cadmium rods for a

N.Reactor.

Why didn't the scientist consider some cross or

cresent like structure for nueclear reactor.

The answer to this question can be given by any

science student or can be found over the net....

the dhara is used as cadmium rods.

Clue: High enegry conservation......
