pranams to all, i was doing the dhyanam and jap to lord shiva, "om namah

shivay", when someone sneezed. I wanted to ask if it is something

inauspicious....

when i am reciting the mantra of lord shiva....or doing jap.....and some

one sneezes then what does it mean??

kanishk

in my humble opinion.......the sneeze is not inauspicious and has no

signifigance...but it has been said that during a sneeze a persons heart stops

for a split second. if someone sneezes pause your jap and inwardly thank shiva

for them then continue. this will mentally acknowledge the sneeze which will

allow you to not think of it again.

Sh. kanishk,

Sneezing is a biological act and has no significance with the

meditation and is not unfavorable. There are some taboos, which are

for bad or good are being passed to succeeding generations. Please

continue your Meditation as before.

Aum namah Shivaya

you have to find a place where you are completely

alone and do your jap. if you cannot find such a place

you have to adjust with others, we are sharing this

world with others so we have to respect others. just

because we are doing jap to Lord shiva will not make

us special before the lord. For Lord all are one and

the one who shows compassion and love is more

important that one who selfishly dose jap to attain

siddhis.
