Guest guest
Dear Shree Matha Lakshmi please accept my respectful pranams! May UmaShankara help you in your vratha... The way I do the vratha might not be the same as prescribed in books nor practised by various sects of people. Our fasting methods have been blessed by Shri ArdhaNarishwara and it was evident when children were born to us after the famous Nadi astrology said no children for us and so did New York Medical hospital. Anyways the way we did were as follows: 1. Wake up at brahma murtha around 3:00 am and clean the Lord Shiva given body and prepare ourself for this vratha by applying the holy ash (there is a total procedure for doing this) but just chant "Om Shree Gowri Shankaraya Namah" and apply the ash on your forehead etc. 2. Do Shiva Dhara first in the early morning if you have a shiva linga at home. Followed by a all the abisekha (a lot of items are there which was described very well by Sri Matha Deepaji). Now if you do not have a shiva linga at home. keep a bowl of water infront of Sri Mahadeva and Matha Shree Parvathi, with a bowl of milk, sugar, Curd Rice, Fruits etc. Then keep chanting "Om Nama Shivaya ....Shivaya Namah Om! Offer mala to HIM and Matha Shree Parvathi. 3. You can continue to do your household work by chanting this mantra in your mind. It is better to stay without even swallowing the salaiva nor having water or any food. 4. In the pradosha kala you have to do abisekha to the ShivaShakthi sampanthi with all the items once again. Then offer him naivadeya. Pray to HIM sincerely, I tell this is what makes Lord Shiva move, the love, the affection, the care you show HIM, the sincereity. It does not matter what you know, where you come from, what lineage you are. It is all your bhakthi that matters to HIM. 5. After praying him, take the prasadam and eat it with devotion, it is said one grain of rice actually will calm down the entire hunger of yours. 6. Drink the charanamitra or dhara water offered to him to complete your fast. This is what we have done, and Lord Gowri Shankar blessed us with two children, where the whole world of "knowledgeful scientists", doctors, astrologers and other high spiritual sadhu's were proved wrong. So matha do it, but whatever you do, do it with pure bhakthi and the Sri SipraPrasadhi Sri Mahadeva will bless you countlessly. SubhamDinamAstu! Guest guest
good evening pradeep sir, this subject really interesting i just wanna know what is mean by "Dhara water with Kush grass" in tamil? i'm eager to do this prayer, so i hope u can clarify some doubts asu said, in morning, wake up , put vibuthi and put the naivedyam i front of god pic and do chanting so, before i could start fasting, when should i eat? is it i should eat the day before n starting morning cannot eat until evening to do prayer again and then break fast? usually, as i know, people who fasting will have milk and fruit before start fasting. what time should we break fast? is it after at night after taking bath and performing prayer? do i need to go temple on the pradosha at 4.30pm until 6.00pm to do abisheka? coz i just have lord shiv picture with his family at home. coz i've never been into fasting, i would like to try in proper way and i hope u could guide and i'm very sorry for asking to much of question. Guest guest
Dear Shri Matha Anurathaji please accept my respectful pranams! I bow to the Ma Shakthi in you. Matha I do not know anything so I do not know if I can guide you. Here is what I know. Dhara water is usually given to Lord SadhaShiva ( a round+ conical vessel hanging over the shiva lingam). Water + Dharbha pullu in tamil mixed with a little camphor pleases the Lord so much. This can be done only if you have any Shiva Lingam at home. No pain, No gain. The tougher your sadhana, the sweeter your results are. However in your case you can drink fresh cow milk and eat fresh fruits. There is no harm in it. Stay away from other foods. Whenever you eat chant "Om ShivaShakthi Shivaya Namah" During Pradhosha kala, do the abishekham with all items especially Curd Rice. Please collect all the charamitra (the abisheka items after it washes the Shiva Lingam) in different vessels. Then after the Shiva Lingam is worshipped with all these materials, give him naivedyam, decorate him with Rudrakshas, flowers on the top of the lingam and give him Dhara water. Keep Sambharani, Dhoop etc and give him a bowl of water with tulsi in it. It pleases HIM. In case if you do not have Shiva Linga at home, you can prepare "Curd Rice" and keep it in front of the Lord. During the pradhosha kala, worship ShivaShakthi together, and after the pradhosha kala is over, you can take the food (Curd Rice, Sweet Pudding, Water with Tulsi in it) offered to Lord with utmost bhakthi and par-take the food. The Lord tastes the food when HIS devotees eat them. Going to Lord Shiva's temple is uttam. However in case if you cannot go, you can use a photo. I have seen a sanyasi using the "Griding stone" as Lord Shiva and HE was blessed. Lord Shiva and Matha Shakthi are everywhere even in a piece of unusable stone. Please let me know if this suffices your questions, May Shri Uma Maheshwara help you in your quest. For they are the test and they are the fruits. Subham Dinam Astu! or Have a nice day!
