Guest guest
Mantra Recitation: The attitude of an aspirant plays an important role on Mantra recitation & worship. Mantra is energy. It can be used for either good or bad purposes. One can compare this with Fire - which is pure energy; it can cook our food to sustain us and nourishes us. It can also burn us and kill us. If a Sadhak (devotee) is proactive in mantra recitation for personal spiritual growth, it helps him/her to evolve, but if the mantra is practiced to help others, it serves a double purpose. It helps both the persons for whom mantra is recited and it also helps the person, who is reciting the mantra. On the other hand, if the mantra is used to harm somebody, the person who recites it will also not escape the harmful effects of the mantra. So it is important for an inspiring mantra worshipper to understand the prerequisites and requisites of mantra worship. Prerequisites of Mantra Sadhana Guru - Spiritual guide Diksha - Initiation given by teacher to student Abhishek - Special rites of eight types given by teacher to student at initiation Requisites of Mantra Sadhana Samkalpa - Firm determination Dridh Iccha Shakti - Strong willpower Astha - Faith Shuchita - Purity Ekagrita - Concentration Asana - Postures Pranayama - Breathing techniques Mala - Rosary Dhyana - Meditation Japa - Repetition of mantra Homa - Fire worship Dhairya - Patience
Guest guest
Respected Lakshmi ji, I agree with you on all accounts but on pre-requisites you mentioned about mantra chanting I have a different view, please correct me if I am wrong. If we could not find a guru can't we chant the mantras?, recently I got a major urge to understand and learn mantras, I did a search on the internet and spoke to some people, but the best answers came in this group without asking, now I know the mantras and I do practice chanting them and I feel very good and getting benifitted by them. Infact I am passing on the mantras to some people, even though I am not an expert on Mantras, I am teaching people whatever I know so that they can be benifitted. With due respects to you, other members of the group and to the Mantras, I believe we have to keep the mantras simple so that people can understand them and use them, if they want they can go deep into spiritualism using mantras. India and Hinduism has lost a lot because all the powerful mantras have been alienated from majority of the people, just imagine if everyone in india or the world understands and chants Gayatri mantra, our earth will be a better place to live. Guest guest
Your views on Mantra are Perfectly alright. There is no need for any body to to be taught. But, as expressed by Lakshmi ji, one should posses all such qualities. The Mantras from Sam Ved are effective when recited with nada and swara. In such cases one needs a guide or guru. It is also believed that one can transfer Mantra to others after one attains Siddhi. Every Mantra has certain number to get Siddhi. Last but not the least, the person to whom the Mantra given, shall be studied well to check whether the Mantra would be misutilised to achieve harmful goals, which in turn affects the people around. (A knife can cut the bread and neck too) If all the above conditions are satified there is no restriction to pass Mantra to any one. The theory of not requiring a Guru is advocated well by Late Sh. JK. Guest guest
Dear KS Rao garu, When we invoke mantras we call upon the devatas/angels to fulfil our inner most thoughts or wishes, and these will be fulfilled only if we are sincere and positive, because the devatas will not fulfil our wishes if we have bad intentions. So where is the point of using the mantras for negative purpose? Mantra energy will not work for negative purposes, this energy will be destroyed the moment the invoker has negativity in his intentions. Ofcourse the invoker of Mantras with negative thoughts will incur bad karma and suffer. I am co-relating chanting of mantras with Reiki, in Reiki also the energy cannot be used for negative purposes, it works only if the intentions of Reiki healer is positive. Also I am using mantras during my Reiki healings and I find them to me very useful. I feel increase in energy and more spiritual during the process. I visualize and feel that the Devatas and Angels are helping me. Om namah shivaya, Best Regards, Divakar. --- KS Rao <kasturisrao wrote: > Dear Sh. Guest guest
With all due regards and respect, It is to be understood that Mantras no doubt render us anormous energy. The power attained by Mantras is in the form of energy. It can be used in anyway depending on attitude of the person. Please go through the Great Rig Ved" for better understanding. The universal energy of Reiki is nothing but Positive energy and it cannot be used for doing harm to any body (I had made this statement as I was confered mastership in Reiki and have a little bit of understanding about Reiki Energy). As you said it is nothing wtrong to utilise the power of Mantras while giving healing energy to the needful people. It is to be noted that here the intension is obviously good. Guest guest
sh. KS Rao, I think there is a misunderstanding, I was refering to the comment "that mantras can be invoked to cause harm to others", This I feel is not possible because when we invoke mantras we call up on our devatas to carry out our deeper wishes. yes I agree with you that chanting mantras create vibrations which increase our energy and usage of it is up to the free will of the person, here the person is using energy directly. Reiki works on healers intention, which has to be pure as the light, there is no ego attached to it. Om namah shivaya. --- KS Rao <kasturisrao wrote: > Sh.
