Guest guest
The Effect of Mantras Mantra practice involves the left hemisphere of the brain and is therefore effective in increasing positive emotions. The intonation and melody, which are the essential parts of Mantras, remove negative emotions. In association with a Yantra or a picture of a deity - the mantra also provides the right hemisphere with a concrete visual image of the object of emotional attention or "Bhakti" - devotion. This is the way mantra affects the emotional self. Spiritual sounds may be poems, chants, prayers or hymns all create emotional frequencies and open new dimensions in our consciousness. The practice of Mantra is more than a suggestion or an idea. It is a means of getting in touch with our inner self. This is the essence of "Bhakti Yoga" - which is the simplest and the most effective way by which we can connect to the supreme and infinite consciousness. Guest guest
Wish you all a Happy Dussara, Om Dhum Durgayee Namaha, Om dhum Durgayee namaha, Om dhum Durgayee namaha, You are very right Lakshmi ji, Earlier I was thinking Mantras are very superstitious and people used to chant them out of fear or out of greed. But now I have realised the meaning and Significance of Mantras, I am chanting them since two months and I find a tremendous peace in me. Sri SaiDevo's explanation of Gayatri mantra has helped me immensely, I started using Gayatri mantra in my daily life and also in my Reiki practice and feel a lot of difference. I feel the energy and presense of Divine when I chant the Gayatri mantra. On this Auspicious day I have taught Gayatri mantra to my 8 year old daughter and I feel very good about it. Thanks for all the members of this group to help me understand the significance and power of mantras. Om namah shivaya, Regards, Divakar. --- goodgirllakshmi <goodgirllakshmi wrote: > The Effect of Mantras > > Mantra practice involves the left hemisphere of > the brain and is > therefore effective in increasing positive emotions. > The intonation and > melody, which are the essential parts of Mantras, > remove negative > emotions.
